Breakfast very good with lots of choice. Evening meal not so good. It was hit or miss. Got bored of the same menu. The Service is extremely slow. Got a bit annoying as very quiet. The Management have eexcellent customer service in asking how you are and having a chat however I thought most the majority of staff were miserable and felt they did not want to be there. Such a shame. I would not go back again due to the lack of friendliness but would go back for the Beach. Read less

We stayed at the Southern Palms in June for our honeymoon, this was our 4th stay at this hotel. I was proposed to here on the balcony of our room in January 2023, so we just HAD to come back for our honeymoon. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds along side Dover Beach. We had a garden view room with views over one of the two swimming pools, the beach and the entertainment area/bar The room has all you need, a huge bed, wardrobe, dressing table, safe, air con, a shower in the bathroom. We could not hear any noise from the nearby bars, the only sounds we could hear were the waves lapping on the shore and the whistling frogs, perfect to us. The balcony furniture has been changed, we used to like to sit at the table & chairs on the balcony & play cards & have a drink & food, but the new table does not facilitate this as it is more like a small coffee table, but hey, we managed The staff are friendly & smiley, in the most. Service can be slow at the bar, especially on a Sunday lunchtime when the steelpan band are playing and during happy hour, this time of year, happy hour was not as bad as it was when we have stayed in January. The whole island is a lot quieter in June/July We spent our days relaxing by the pool, overlooking the beautiful beach & sea, we made some wonderful friends, pool towels are changed at the sports hut & the boys who work there are really lovely & kind & funny, they also have a few sunbed mattresses you can use during your stay The hotel has quite a few repeat guests & I would suggest the majority of guests are older, just like us The hotel is in walking distance of the end of the Gap & there are always taxis outside if you need a ride somewhere There is live entertainment a few evenings a week, along with the Sunday lunchtime steel pan band The pink hotel definitely suits our needs & we will be back again Enjoy your stay Read less

Well Let me start by saying Southern Hotel is a lovely place the colors of the hotel makes it feel more Caribbean and well presented. The food was on point the and the drinks too, just the service was poor poor poor and this review must question the hotel, our server he had a attitude from the time we was asking him about meals and drinks. He leave the dirty glasses on the table and even the plates as well.the bill was presented before asking if we needed anything else. That was crazy. The supervisor came and try to make things better due to how we acted when he came to the table. But to make things worst she make a small lady came and clean his mess up and other tables around.i work in the industry and if your management team can't get it right with him you would have more reviews. To the young lady that was wearing black and white speak up to your manger bout this when they ask you about this review Hotel 7/10 Clean surroundings 8/10 Food n Drinks 8/10 Service Waiter 0/10 Front Desk 8/10 Read less
