The hotel

Nestled in 10-acres of delightful tropical, lush gardens, the Sunset at the Palms is a sure-fire winner for adults looking for a peaceful and pampering retreat. Offering a personalised concierge service, the dedicated team are happy to assist as soon as you arrive, ensuring your stay in Negril is everything you want it to be. From arranging transportation and booking excursions to making dining reservations and organising special occasions, nothing is too much trouble. Renowned for its unique and intimate accommodations, stay in exquisite wooden bungalows that sit atop sturdy stilts, so you feel like you’re in a tree house, with polished wood floors, sleek showers with body jets and airy balconies furnished with a relaxing day bed. There are three different dining choices, and we particularly love the spicy Jamaican ‘Jerk’ chicken that’s served at the Beach Bar and Grill during lunch — don’t miss it! The pool is perfect for lounging in the sun, or it’s a short escorted walk over the road to the celebrated Bloody Bay, a spectacular stretch of white sand beach fringed with picture-perfect palm trees.

The accommodations were outstanding. Impeccably clean. The staff went above and beyond in everything they did. Always with a smile. We'll be going back. The worst part was the 1 hour ride from Montego Bay to the resort. We'll take the puddle jumper next time

We have just spent 13 amazing nights at what we now class as our second home, having holidayed here in May 2025 (our first visit) we were excited to return whist also a little nervous that our experience would mirror that of the previous year. We needn’t have worried from the moment we arrived it was like we had never been away, the staff are all amazing many of who we remembered and who remembered us, Jason, Tameika, Nadine, Britney, Kash, Kirk, Cornelius and so many more apologies I can’t name you all, the hotel having endured Melissa barely 6 months ago has recovered remarkably well and this is clearly due to the care, love and commitment of all those associated to this beautiful place. Beach as stunning as we remembered, sunsets some of the best we have experienced anywhere, beach lads and bar staff excellent and attentive, Pool a chilled space within such a lush sheltered area of the hotel great for sipping a cocktail whilst you cool off in the water. Rooms this time we had a standard room which was 608 a great location for us lovely and private albeit it was 2nd row back from the road this didn’t concern or disturb us unduly, plants of storage space and good air con. Food, now this one was a little tricky and nearly had a bearing on my 5/5 score, there has been for us a notable drop in the food at the beach bar in particular, gone are a few of our favourites from last year (daily specials, club sandwich) arrived are a variety of burger options, hot dogs, nachos, jerk chicken which although were generally served up ok and swiftly we did experience instances where food was both cold and overcooked. This definitely needs looking in to for me, there is a buffet back at the resort but people do not always want the fuss of packing bits up and making their way back across the road during the hottest part of the day so please expand the menu. Evenings are low key with light entertainment but that’s exactly what this resort is all about, pure relaxation and serenity, a night around the piano with Paul at the keys is the perfect end to any day. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd time here and are already planning our 3rd so thank you SATP and all of your amazing staff for the warmest of welcomes and looking after us so brilliantly. Rooms are a decent size with everything you need and a great balcony to relax in. The resort is nestled amongst lush greenery, palm trees and colourful flowers. If you are looking for active and party type atmosphere husband the place. If you enjoy relaxing with a book or taking a nap on the beach this is the place. The beach is fabulous with wonderful bar/ food service to your chair if you’d like. I was so pleasantly surprised by this resort. Read less

I don't even know where to begin. My husband and I went to Sunset At The Palms to celebrate our 5-year anniversary. This was my third trip to Jamaica and his first. Jamaica has always felt like home with every visit, and I wanted him to experience that as well. I cannot put into words how amazing our 9-day stay was. From the time we landed until the time we left, the service was excellent! Everyone was so welcoming and made us feel at home. The food and drinks were tasty. The grounds were beautiful. It was so peaceful to fall asleep and wake up listening to God's lovely creation every day. The beach was beautiful and relaxing. Everything was clean and well-kept around the resort. The rooms could use some updating and repairs, but that in no way would change how I feel about Sunset. I have been home a week now, and I still have on my bracelet. Does that tell you anything, lol? Not only was the staff amazing, but some of the visitors were just as amazing. I cannot name them all, but I do want to give a special shout-out to some staff that really warmed my heart and made our stay one to remember. First, I have to say thank you to my new friend, Shawn. We had kindred spirits and connected the first time meeting one another. There was a very sweet and kind spirit about her. Thank you, Shawn, for making us feel so welcomed! Our driver to and from the airport, Ian, was absolutely amazing! He gave us so much detail and insight into the culture and history of Jamaica. Bianca was very sweet and helpful with all our concierge needs. Brenda, thank you for the amazing massage, very professional! I need you back here in the U.S. with me, lol. Thank you, Lynford, for picking the beautiful flowers for me! Thank you, Olivia, for keeping our room stocked every day and clean. However, I don't know why there was such a shortage of washcloths. There were two of us, but only one washcloth most days. No fault of hers. We made it work. We had great servers every day, but two that really stood out for me were Jason and Francois. I was greeted with smiles and compliments every time I saw them. Francois was like a Renaissance man because I saw him everywhere, lol. Thank you to the entire team at Sunset At The Palms! It was truly an honor to be a guest, and you are all my family now. See you later because we will be back! Read less
