The hotel

Throwing you into the full Atlantis experience, The Royal is as legendary as the myths that inspired and infuse them. The architecture, the artwork, the adventures — each have a cheeky nod to the Lost City of Atlantis, but the well-dressed rooms and suites are a little less kitsch, coming with French or full balconies and views over the terraces, water, or harbour. The Royal — central to the myth of Atlantis — Atlantean-themed murals, décor and mosaics abound, it is here that the lost city comes to life! The Royal rooms features French balconies with terrace, harbour or water views. 1,083 rooms and 118 suites on 24 floors, all with air-conditioning, flat-screen HDTV, WiFi access, alarm clock, tea/coffee makers, safe, hairdryer, mini-fridge*, iron and ironing board, and bathroom amenities.

Terrace View Rooms offer inland views of the complex and resort, with 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds sleeping maximum 4 people.

Imperial Club Rooms are available with terrace, harbour or water views, and are located on the 19th floor of the East Tower with dedicated concierge service in the Club Lounge, added room amenities such as slippers and robes, reusable water bottles. A wonderful resort that is huge, and yet remarkably clean. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We stayed at the Royal, which is the oldest of the hotels. THe rooms are dated and show signs of it, if you want water pressure, seek other lodging. If you like a firm mattress, you'll love the slabs in the Royal. THe resort itself was clean, everything that was in operation (we went in the off season, so things were shut down for maintenance, but the website did make it clear that would be the case). No crowds at all once the cruise ship people filtered out every day. Beware the French balconies, ours was 10 inches from door glass to railing. If you're a size 6, you might fit there. Food was great. Even with the seasonal closures, there was a decent variety of food. All of it was good. The Casino is clean, smoke free, and well lit. THe slots seemed extremely tight, barely alloting even the smallest of gains before draining whatever you put into them. Card, dice, and other dealers/staff were friendly, professional, and informative. The marine life that is exhibited throughout looks healthy and, for the most part, the viewing areas are kept clear. Paradise island is 20 minutes in a cab from the port of Nassau, which is an experience. The people of the Bahamas are friendly and courteous. Be advised, if you go downtown, the merchants there are fairly aggressive about trying to get youre business. They are used to hearing no though, and move quickly on to the next person. You can barter for almost anything there as well. The Bahamas Dollar is even in value to the US Dollar, and USD are accepted as currency everywhere. Also, all beaches are considered public beaches there. It's a great law so that the locals don't get squeezed out by developers and banned from their own beaches. It's also great for visitors, because you can visit any beach, anywhere. If I could change 1 thing about Atlantis, I'd make sure that if something was closed, had changed hours, etc... that information should be more easily available to guests. The resort is HUGE, and sometimes it can be a very long walk to get from place to place. It is disappointing to walk a mile to get to a beach, restaurant, or other venue only to find it closed for the day. Overall, we had a great experience, and will return for another stay! Read less

Exceptional Staff Made My Birthday Stay Unforgettable I recently stayed at Atlantis and had an incredible experience, especially because of the amazing staff who went above and beyond to make my birthday special. A very special shout-out to Cameron at the front desk. He was absolutely outstanding—extremely helpful, welcoming, and full of positive energy. He is genuinely one of the nicest individuals I have ever met. Cameron made me feel valued from the moment I interacted with him, and his personality and dedication to guest service really stood out. Honestly, Cameron should be the face of Atlantis. He represents the kind of hospitality that makes a guest want to come back. I also want to recognize Valderine from Dolphin Cay, who made my birthday extremely special. Her kindness, warmth, and attention to detail made the experience even more memorable. Jerchoyaé and Braxton were fantastic during the sea lion and dolphin tour. They were friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, and made the experience so much fun. It was definitely one of the highlights of my stay. Danielle at the front desk also deserves recognition. She was wonderful and provided excellent customer service. The employees I encountered truly made my stay memorable. Their positive attitudes and genuine care for guests are a huge asset to Atlantis, and I hope management recognizes these individuals for the exceptional job they are doing. The one area that could use improvement is the bathroom in the room. It felt quite outdated and showed significant signs of wear. The toilet flush handle also needs attention because it has to be manually raised after flushing, otherwise the water continues to run. Given the overall quality and price point of the resort, I think the bathrooms would benefit from some updating and maintenance. That said, the exceptional service from the staff far outweighed this issue. My birthday celebration and overall stay at Atlantis were truly memorable, and I would definitely return.
