The Royal at Atlantis

Nassau, Bahamas

Star rating

The hotel

Throwing you into the full Atlantis experience, The Royal is as legendary as the myths that inspired and infuse them. The architecture, the artwork, the adventures — each have a cheeky nod to the Lost City of Atlantis, but the well-dressed rooms and suites are a little less kitsch, coming with French or full balconies and views over the terraces, water, or harbour. Their spot on Atlantis Paradise Island puts you right by Atlantis Casino and at the heart of the world’s largest outdoor ‘marine habitat’ — with 14 lagoons and more than 50,000 aquatic residents, from sharks to barracuda. The island’s other fabled fun’s yours for the taking too, whether its experiencing rides or slides at the 141-acre Aquaventure waterscape; snorkelling the ‘ruins’ at Atlantis; or kicking back at one of its 21 restaurants and 19 bars.

We keep coming back because we love all the amenities in one spot. Most of the restaurants are exceptional, and you can use a different pool every day if you choose. The beaches are breathtaking, and the water is phenomenal. The waterpark is great for kids and adults. The rooms are beautiful, and the resort is always well taken care of. We… Read more

A year and a half later the Royal Tower is not good. Moldy smelling rooms and freezing temperature. I checked in last week was assigned to one of the Royal towers, went to room, very bad moldy odor and freezing temp. Turned thermosat up to 80, still freezing. I went back to the front desk, was assigned a second room, same issues. The front desk staff called me to check on the status of the room, I asked her to have housekeeping deodorize the room and to have an engineer check the room temperature. The deodorizer only lasted a day. The engineers came, did nothing to fix the thermostat, they only adjust it to auto at 72 degrees. I complained again about the freezing room, a man came up the next morning and asked what is the problem. Advised him the room is freezing even on 80 degrees. He did nothing as well except turning the thermostat to auto. I aksed for a portable heater, he said he will check. Never heard back from him or any staff. We had to sleep with the door open to warm up a little. Horrible. We got sick a few days later. This is very poor service. It astonishes me how the employees act suprised they did not know the rooms smell and are freezing, when other guests have addressed the same problem to them with no resolution. I saw other guests reviews after I returned home. Caesars rewards need to re-evaluate sending patrons here. You are treated as a nobody. No comps no free play for repeat guests, despite my play level. Rooms not up to par. Restaurants: I ate at Anthony's and Chop stix, got food poisoning both times, despite the food being good. Very disappointing stay vs last year. Returning is questionable. Only enjoyable is the water park and the pools. Read less

The first room we checked into, the carpet was wet from the fridge, there were ants in the room, and the shower/tub had no water pressure. They sent the maintenance/plumber up to look at the shower/tub and he informed us that they would need to shut the water off to fix the issue. We had to switch rooms as a result. When we went to switch rooms, there were no notes on the account about the issue just that "we were satisfied". They only gave us a $75 dollar credit for our inconvenience. They weren't even going to give me that at first. They stated it was either a room switch or a credit. It was an inconvenience to me either way and I was not satisfied with the $75 dollar credit it should have been a lot more. There were 4 of us that had to pack all of our stuff up (2 being kids) and that took a lot of time away from the pool/beach. I was also not offered assistance to switch to the other room. The room that we were switched to was also a downgrade as the room we were in before had a full balcony, the one they switched us to only had a French balcony. Overall I was very dissatisfied with the "help" I received. The staff at the pool/beach were helpful. There were not very many food options and some of them closed at 5PM when the pool closed. Most of the staff was very friendly but there were a few who were grouchy. Read less
