The Royal at Atlantis

Nassau, Bahamas

Star rating

The hotel

Throwing you into the full Atlantis experience, The Royal is as legendary as the myths that inspired and infuse them. The architecture, the artwork, the adventures — each have a cheeky nod to the Lost City of Atlantis, but the well-dressed rooms and suites are a little less kitsch, coming with French or full balconies and views over the terraces, water, or harbour. Their spot on Atlantis Paradise Island puts you right by Atlantis Casino and at the heart of the world’s largest outdoor ‘marine habitat’ — with 14 lagoons and more than 50,000 aquatic residents, from sharks to barracuda. The island’s other fabled fun’s yours for the taking too, whether its experiencing rides or slides at the 141-acre Aquaventure waterscape; snorkelling the ‘ruins’ at Atlantis; or kicking back at one of its 21 restaurants and 19 bars.

Great for every age. The kids loved the pools and aquariums. It's fun to just walk around and find something new, indoor and outdoor, which there is plenty of. Staff were nice and helpful. Shoutout to Zackino and Thia!

Our room included breakfast every morning. We enjoyed Poseidon’s table for their breakfast buffet. I wanted to give a special shout out to Phillano who was at the check in desk at the royal tower. We had a question about charges on our bill and he addressed them immediately and took care of them. It was great dealing with a “can do” person who was also very friendly. Thank you, Phillano. We can’t wait return!! Read less

We rented the 2 bedroom regal suite and an additional terrace room for our vacation with our 5 kids. We arrived to a dirty room with black hair covering the floors and bathrooms. The elevators didn’t work and the resort was experiencing “a shortage of towels!”. To top it all off, they’re renovating the pool at the neighboring Cove hotel so they’ve decided to close the largest pool on the entire resort off to Cove guests only. Totally ridiculous. Save yourself the trouble and go stay at Baha Mar. This experience is garbage and definitely doesn’t justify the $11 bottles of water and $20 drinks. What was once a great property now is not, simply an overpriced water park with holiday inn express rooms. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Same as the Cove. You couldn’t pay me $10000 to go anywhere near this place ever again.

See my other reciew about the Cove. Same for the Atlantis the place is horrendous and dangerous and it’s all interconnected. I wish I could tell you how truly bad it was. I didn’t pay a dime for the rooms at the cove and you couldn’t pay me $10,000 to come back. Well I’m probably underestimating that for the Atlantis which is connected. Cause… Read more

I didn’t pay a dime for the rooms at the cove and you couldn’t pay me $10,000 to come back. Well I’m probably underestimating that for the Atlantis which is connected. Cause that’s an even bigger dump. You’d have to pay me $50,000 with US military personnel security 24/7 even think about ever going back there. Just take a look at this photo and look how dumb they are. Again I’m being careful in what I say cause this is just the tip of the iceberg of how bad and dangerous this place is. I ended up at the US embassy asking for help and letting them know that we would be at the holiday inn for the rest of our trip and our departure date in case anything ever happened to us. Read less

Great Place, Beautiful. But be warned. LOTS of walking, it's a famous RESORT with stunning grounds so food is expensive. Most of us take a whole suitcase of snacks and walk 2 blocks over to the liquor store so we can make our own drinks in the room. $18 for a simple pinot, burgers for $15, Breakfast for $38 AND every item has mandatory… Read more
Great Place, Beautiful. But be warned. LOTS of walking, it's a famous RESORT with stunning grounds so food is expensive. Most of us take a whole suitcase of snacks and walk 2 blocks over to the liquor store so we can make our own drinks in the room. $18 for a simple pinot, burgers for $15, Breakfast for $38 AND every item has mandatory 10% tax plus 15% gratuity (even for walk up & wait, food) So, if you are there 3 nts or more... be prepared to shell out some bucks. BUT, the beaches and pools are amazing. The Casino is fun, vibrant, okay machines, and free drinks if gambling. We Love CHOPSTIX, Poseidon Buffet, Bimini's, Murray's, and Breakwater Grill. If you have a partner that doesn't like to walk though... don't pick here as it gets pretty warm May - October and it is spread out. You pretty much stay on property unless you want to fork out $50 round trip to go to a restaurant 2 miles away. I LOVE to walk, but NOT in that humidity! We've stayed in the Royal East & West (pros & cons to both) Water Park is a blast. POOLS, get out by 9am to get towels and chairs. my fave tip: we took 2 medium sized umbrellas and we carry them to the pools It usually rains each day a bit, but 1 day it rained hard for 30 min. Everyone else, ran to their rooms, we sat in our chairs, holding our umbrellas and reading our books while sipping on our drinks! The AQUARIUM is delightful and to walk through the caves (I'm claustrophobic and this doesn't bother me) and see the Rays, Sharks, Lobsters, Turtles, Sawtooth, and just a thousand pretty fish.... priceless!!!!!
