Garden Rooms are nestled in the natural island gardens, with a private porch, privacy screen between each room and easy access to the island’s facilities. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child, or 3 adults.

Beach Villas are detached villas just a few steps from the shore, with a private furnished porch perfect for enjoying the fantastic ocean view. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children, or 3 adults.

Jacuzzi Beach Villas offer Maldivian inspired beach living with views of the lagoon, private sundeck and Jacuzzi for two, with a private walled-in outdoor area. These villas are located in the adults’ only area and exclusively for guest over 18. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Jacuzzi Water Villas are over-water villas with a private sundeck, with stairs leading into the sea. These villas are exclusively for guests aged 18 years and older. With 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

A wonderful resort for relaxation and snorkelling.

This is a fantastic island I would return in a heartbeat. Excellent snorkelling. Wonderful beaches, food and service. The perfect getaway for a quiet relaxing holiday. Be warned however that forgetting the simplest items like after sun etc will cost you a small fortune in the island shop.

Paradise island and staff. Reef, food and surroundings were amazing!! And no shoes!!

We just had 11 amazing days at Vilamendhoo! The moment you land from the 25 minutes sea plane until you leave, it felt that we were in paradise! Where do I start? Rooms: We had a jacuzzi beach villa so we could use the adult only restaurant area. Large room, big firm comfortable bed, it was kept spotlessly clean twice a day, beautiful outside bathrooms with a great rain shower and double sinks. Our own numbered sun loungers and tables on the beach area. Mini bar is topped up once a day- we had AI but if not the prices are very obvious on the mini bar list. Island: No shoes, beautiful sandy areas everywhere to walk on. Beautiful palms and jungle walks across the island. Gardeners work tirelessly to keep it looking well pruned, swept and well tended for. Reef: Incredible variety of corals, fish, turtles, reef sharks, even eagle rays and we saw lion fish and an octopus! Current is strong in certain areas so you always need flippers. Then it is like swimming in a massive aquarium- the water is so clear and blue and the fish are often so close to you- beautiful!! Food: The Ashima restaurant, adult only, was amazing. Different theme nights which change every 14 days-the food area is kept spotless and the food trays hot and always well topped up. Fresh fruit always available, often mango, guava and papaya, kiwis, melons , small bananas, star fruit and many other choice. We didn't try the snacks and also the Hot Rock as that was not part of the AI and we do this at home anyway. The Asian wok we visited once- disappointed as quality not as good as the buffet restaurant but included in the AI so we went once. Staff: You are allocated a waiter but you can sit wherever you like- we loved this arrangement, our waiter was very helpful, knew our drinks quickly and always happy to give suggestions for something different. Evening entertainment: It varies from karaoke, acoustic singer ( he was quite good), saxophone ( not very good), Maldivian evening-Ok but seen much better. We went to play games and not be entertained. However, if you want an island with great entertainment every night then sadly look elsewhere. We absolutely loved this island and would definitely go back. Our fifth visit to the Maldives and definitely the best!! Read less

OCEAN DISCOVERY IS A MUST !!!

For our honeymoon we island hopped around the Maldives and Vilamendhoo was our last destination. The BEST part of this part of the honeymoon was the Ocean Discovery Tour !!!! On the 16th of September my husband and I were lucky enough to go on the discovery tour and had a trip of a lifetime. I am a confident swimmer and ocean lover, however my husband is not a swimmer and did not join me in the ocean. Despite this, we both had the best time. My husbands experience was nothing but absolute fun on the ship with the other hard working and friendly crew members. As he did not want to go in the ocean, everyone onboard the ship made him feel welcome and they had a great laugh. My husband had a great time with Krishna (Chef), Shareef, Shiram and the Captain (not sure if his name). They laughed and joked and made my husband feel part of their team. They called my husband Captain Jack Sparrow and couldn’t have done enough for him to have a great time. They worked hard to make sure that my husband was having fun. By the end of the evening, they called themselves the champion team! In terms of my experience, Viyaam (aquaman) was an absolute phenomenal ocean tour guide. As I was on my own swimming, he made sure that I was safe and made me feel very comfortable in the deep ocean. We swam together throughout and he looked out for me. I cannot thank him enough as not only did he make me feel a comfortable, he showed me the beautiful reef mantas, giant oceanic mantas, 5 whale sharks and beautiful turtles. THANK YOU Krishna, Viyaam Shareef, Shiram and Captain !!! You all made our trip so special. In terms of the rest of our experience. We had an outstanding time snorkelling on the island and enjoyed the infinity pool. However, we were not so keen our room and were disappointed that despite being on our honeymoon we didn’t experience any added extras, which we did experience elsewhere. the experience we got by visiting thise hotel is incredible, we are still under a beautiful impression: 1. the organization of the reception at the airport, the transfer by small plane and the experience of observing the sea and the islands is fantastic 2. welcome to the hotel and quick entry to the room, outdoor bathroom as a new experience and adaptation, usual food for everyone, excellent rock concert with pirate cocktails, friendly staff. 3. blending in with nature, absorbing the sound of the sea, birds, the color of the sea, sand, sky....walking along the riverbank, natural shade everywhere...all this brought us peace of mind from the very beginning of our visit. 3. the sea is warm, clear, marked entrances, beautiful corals (on certain parts of the reef), many fish... the conclusion is that we are under a very positive impression.
