Let’s get the annoyances out of the way; first the check-in of 4pm being hard and fast is annoying when others check in ahead of you while arriving at the same time. Second, there needs to be better cleaning of the hallways and elevators. What did I like? The location is great. My room was very quiet, which is rare for NYC and better than my night before at the Conrad. I don’t understand the short desk in the room. The gym was amazing by NYC standards. It was large with plenty of options. Finally the restaurant and bar, while pricey, was quite good for the food, drink, and service. Read less

Larger than expected rooms with high ceilings. Very clean with good housekeeping services. Nice amenities, with morning coffee service and afternoon wine service. Good central location.

We had a wonderful stay at the Andaz 5th Avenue and highly recommend their suites. The room was incredibly spacious, highly soundproofed, and in a perfect location. One of the first things we noticed was how wonderful the room smelled—it was so inviting that I’m actually regretful I didn’t purchase their signature bath amenities to take home! We also had breakfast at their restaurant, which was a highlight of our trip. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was top-notch. Despite arriving quite late, we were greeted warmly, and the check-in process was so smooth that we were able to settle in immediately. Even though I had booked our stay under two separate reservations, the staff accommodated us in the same room without any hassle. The service throughout was consistently impressive; even at midnight, housekeeping was prompt and helpful with our requests. Unfortunately, I couldn't note specific names as name tags weren't visible, but everyone we encountered was wonderful—from the doorman and front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant staff. Their professionalism made our trip seamless and memorable. We can't wait to return! Read less

We had a truly memorable stay at Andaz, and as a family, we are especially grateful to Elaine for her exceptional care and service. We arrived early in the morning after a long journey, and she made a genuine effort to have our room prepared as quickly as possible. Being able to check in early made a meaningful difference for all of us. More than anything, we could feel that she wasn’t just doing her job—she genuinely understood how tiring travel can be, especially for a family, and went out of her way to make things easier and more comfortable for us. Throughout our stay, her kindness and attentiveness felt sincere and consistent. It’s rare to come across someone who naturally extends that level of care beyond the individual guest to the entire family, and that left a lasting impression on all of us. Breakfast was another highlight. The dining experience was elevated by the breakfast service manager, who carried herself with a calm authority, warmth, and experience that set the tone for the entire morning. She guided the space with a quiet confidence—almost like someone who truly owns the rhythm of the room—creating an atmosphere that felt both energizing and reassuring. It was the kind of presence that makes you trust you’re in good hands, ready to start your day. And the food fully lived up to that experience. In New York, it’s honestly hard to find something noticeably better unless you have a very specific destination in mind. The ricotta cheese pancakes were outstanding—easily one of the best we’ve had. Thank you again to Elaine, and the entire team, for taking such thoughtful care of our family and making our stay truly comfortable and memorable. Read less

Serious safety concern with the valet/front desk team. They handed my car key to someone we never authorized. Serious safety concern with the valet/front desk team. They handed my car key to someone we never authorized. While that person happened to be a friend of mine, we did not arrive together, are not under the same reservation, and I never gave permission for anyone else to receive my key. The individual provided nothing -- no valet ticket, no last name, no verification whatsoever -- and was still given access with zero questions asked. When I raised this directly with the staff member responsible, there was no apology. The only responses I got were "I thought you knew each other" and "just leave us a review." Completely unprofessional. It should not matter whether I know the person or not -- handing a guest's car key to an unauthorized individual without any form of verification is a serious lapse in protocol and a legitimate safety risk.
