The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of seven restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, four distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

Hotel was over priced for mediocre accommodations. Staff at front desk, including manager lacked friendly and compassionate hospitality. Room was supposedly renovated but cracked tile in shower and multiple stains on the carpeting

Great location on the strip. Our room (27th floor) was great. Very clean. Plenty of hot water. Housekeeping was good. We were able to use Valet parking for free with our Platinum card. We didn't have to wait long for an elevator. Could have used a better variety of slots and more of them. Also could use more breakfast options. Food hall and… Read more

I’ve stayed at Flamingo a few times over the years. The location is its best asset. My husband was attending a convention so I wanted a location that I could easily navigate by myself. The flamingo offers plenty of food options and entertainment within it as well as all around it. I could easily get what I wanted with a short walk. We booked a comped flamingo king strip view in the habitat tower. With resort fees and taxes it was just under $250 for 4 nights. The line to check in was long but it moved at a steady pace. My son was staying there too and we wanted rooms close together so we skipped the shorter lines at the self check in kiosk. We both ended up on the 11th floor across the hall from one another. Our rooms were identical but his view was the sphere, high roller, and flamingo habitat. I chose this room type due to their recent updates. The room was spacious and clean-ish. There was a large brown stain on our carpet near the foot of our bed. There were streaks of residue on the tv stand that looked crusty. The furniture was chipped. The soap leaked in the shower. The mattress was on the softer side. The bathroom sink was cracked. It also had several positives. The pillows were comfortable. The couch was clean. The air stayed cool. It offered a fridge, plenty of storage space, and a great view. However, on the last night we could hear blaring music from the strip. Like high energy club music!!! We travel with a sound machine to help block out noise and it could be heard over that. It kept going until 3am. It was a Thursday night and we were Vegas tired since it was the last night of our trip. It was impossible to fall asleep. I walked across the hall to see if it could be heard in my son’s room and it was quiet. If I book here again, I’d give up my strip view for the quieter location. It’s hard for me to admit that because I love to look out over the strip when resting in my room. But I still can’t unhear that music. The pool area was a disappointment. We reserved a wet deck daybed. Drinks were weak, food had a hair on the plate, and the server stood beside me and “helped” me add the tip to my bill. She had her calculator out and added the total. The DJ played music that I was unfamiliar with so I asked my son if he knew any of the songs and he didn’t. The crowd went crazy during the 2-3 familiar songs he played. He was out of touch with his crowd. Some pool bathrooms were under maintenance so there was a long walk up the stairs to a bathroom that didn’t appear tidy. The pool water was freezing! The crowd was middle aged and mostly well behaved. Free chairs were available at noon on a Wednesday. Overall, we had a good stay. The hotel accommodated our requests for room type, view, location, and late check out. We were able to rest comfortably, except for the last night. Plenty of food options. Easy to navigate. Solid deal. They could improve a few things, but I’d stay here again. Read less
