Get the true Fisherman’s Wharf experience at this fashionable hotel. Hyatt Centric's red-brick design fits in well with its surroundings, and its arched windows frame famous attractions like Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square, and The Embarcadero. Step inside and see its exposed brick and industrial accessories, but with a chic ‘seaside hotel’ twist. For a treat, grab your towel and head to the courtyard pool and whirlpool. And why not end the day with a glass of local wine by the fireplace — and maybe a tasty crab and clam chowder?

I have never had a bad experience staying at a Hyatt until now. We arrived very early and I knew our room would not be ready but wanted to check our bags. I also asked to make sure my Hyatt account was on file. The woman assisting me was extremely rude and condescending, making it clear that I wouldn’t receive any of my member benefits because I booked through a third party. (Which stinks, but would’ve been ok if she was just nice about it.) She was annoyed about storing our bags and recorded the wrong number of bags on the luggage slip, which created issues later.
The room itself was fine and the location of the hotel is good. The extra charges for the “resort fees” are ridiculous, because there are no resort amenities. There is a pool, fitness room, restaurant, and free WiFi. The WiFi was unreliable for all 4 members of my party. The fitness room was difficult to access through a makeshift corridor due to construction on the fourth and fifth floors. We did not visit the restaurant or pool. The game room advertised was not available due to construction (which was noisy during the day).
I saw some other reviews with similar complaints, and management always replies that they are sorry the visit didn’t meet the expectation and they will pass it along. I can say that, based on my front desk experience, they absolutely don’t care if you are dissatisfied or unhappy. Our stay was expensive, lacking customer service, and had poor amenities. Not worth the hassle.

The price is not match with the entire condition of hotel

I don't recommend to book this hotel as the room and facility both are pretty old. However, you can book until thet completed renovation. I hope the entire condition of hotel will get a big improvement.

xtremely Disappointing Stay: Rude Service, Renovation Noise, and 2.5-Hour Breakfast

Stayed at this property multiple times before, but this visit was extremely disappointing.
The front desk staff were rude from the start. Despite the app clearly showing upgraded rooms available, I was not given any upgrade at all. The property is currently undergoing renovations, which created significant noise throughout the stay.
I was also assigned what is likely one of the worst rooms on the property. It was the furthest possible room from the elevators and was a connecting room with strangers next door. There was constant noise from their family, including parents shouting and kids running around late at night and early in the morning. Sleeping was nearly impossible.
Breakfast has also deteriorated significantly. The buffet is gone. Instead, I had to wait in line for an hour to be seated, then another hour to receive the food, and about 30 minutes to eat. In total, breakfast took 2.5 hours, which is unreasonable.
As a Globalist member, the 18% gratuity is supposed to be included with the breakfast benefit. However, I was overcharged for tip. When I raised the issue, the front desk responded rudely and asked, “So you don’t want to pay?” Instead of acknowledging the mistake or apologizing, they questioned me. Being overcharged and then treated with that attitude is unacceptable.
This experience was extremely disappointing and does not reflect the standards expected from the Hyatt brand.

Not worth the cost

Positives - hotel was clean, comfortable and allowed early check in with no hassle
Negatives - Internet was not usable, pool was freezing, room was noisy needing earplugs as could hear other guests loudly in day and in early hours
