The Strip, Las Vegas

Star rating

The hotel

Everywhere you turn there are awesome spectacles to behold in this exotic wonderland, including the amazing 1.6 million-gallon aquarium known as Shark Reef, world-class nightlife, and top class cuisine makes an appearance in Kumi Japanese Restaurant. More highlights include the whopping five swimming pools, lazy river ride, and a wave pool with a sandy beach, all of which give you a welcome relief in that midday Vegas sun. The fully air-conditioned Casino on the Beach is accessible in your swimwear too, even the dealers wear casual beach outfits! All in all, Mandalay Bay is not so much a hotel as a big, beautiful resort city with everything you need right on property!

Everything takes a lot of time and cost a lot. Old room with old towels. Unauthorized charges to my room. I am sure you can fix them, but it will take 50 minutes of your day. Misleading survey.

TERRIBLE PLACE! I will never go back. While the hotel is clean and modern, guests are treated like cattle. Nickel and dime you for everything. Example, you can buy a bottle of water at the vending machine in the hotel for $3.00; when you take that bottle of water to the pool, they pour it out and expect you to pay $8.00 for another bottle of water. The pools are beautiful, but so crowded and oversold that if you are not at the pool when it opens at 8:00 a.m. forget it. You will NOT find a chair to sit in. Forget about the lazy river. You have to pay $30.00 in the gift shop for an intertube. Any guest that won't pay for a float can just walk around and around in the lazy river. The people that paid for floats just bang into the people walking in the river. It is insane. The food you can purchase is poor and out of sight expensive. If you were lucky enough to find a chair, no one will serve you because there are 2000 people there and about four servers. I will never come back to Mandalay Bay. I did not feel welcome or appreciated. Read less

I never take the time to write reviews unless the experience it top notch or the opposite. In this case, it is the latter. When we arrived and checked in, we left our vehicle at valet and went to the receptionist. Mind you, it was 2:30pm and our room was not available yet, despite the website saying check in is at 3pm. Which is fine. We were told we’d receive a text once our room was ready. Then, they proceeded to tell us that we’d be staying at the W, next door, and if we want to move our vehicle, we can take it there ourselves. The receptionist also told us we can leave our luggage at bell hop right next to them, and that the would take out luggage to our room once we have that available. We did just that. Instead of moving our car, we decided to take a walk since it had been a long trip. Hours passed and no text message. We finally called the hotel (which I’ll tell you is an undertaking in itself to get a hold of someone) and they mentioned our room was ready and a text had been sent. No text was received. When we finally got to the room, at the W (which is where they switched us to from my original Mandalay Bay reservation), I called bell hop. The W bell hop had never received my items from the Mandalay bell hop and i would have to wait 30 minutes until my items arrived. The entire check in process was a nightmare and the most complex process I’ve experienced. The room itself was basic. Two of the phones in the room - one didn’t work at all; and the other you could barely hear out of, and when you used speaker, it just made a bunch of noise. The hotels alright, but the service needs some vast improvement. I personally would have stayed elsewhere, but I heard this was really one of the only ones that were kid friendly. So choices were limited. Read less

Great stay! The room was spacious and the staff was helpful! Thank you to Michael who helped us and even upgraded our room! The wave pool was a blast for my nieces and we had a wonderful time exploring. Would definitely stay here again!
