Mayfair House Hotel & Garden

Coconut Grove, Miami

Star rating

The hotel

Mixing an intimate feel with a super-central spot in upmarket Coconut Grove, and the uber-cool styling you’d expect from a Miami hotel, The Mayfair has it all. In fact you don’t even need to venture out — the Miami scene comes to you, with the hotel’s Above Mayfair rooftop pool lounge featuring weekly ‘Sunset of Miami’ pool parties, Friday night happy hours, resident DJs, a curved Gaudi-esque seating wall complete with fireplace, a casual food menu, and custom cocktails. The rooftop is the hub of the action by day too, with its heated swimming pool and views over Miami and Biscayne Bay. Downstairs holds its own treasures though, with the Spartico trattoria’s authentic Italian dishes cooked up in an authentic Ambrogi oven, and the Jurlique Spa’s organic products.

We stayed at Mayfair house for our honeymoon and everything was fabulous, especially service from David! He was so friendly and truly made our stay so special! It was also great to be walkable to so many things and we loved the honeymoon suite! We’ll be back!

The whole place is gorgeous—lush plants everywhere, cozy courtyards, and beautiful architecture that gives it so much character. My room was spacious, stylish, and spotless. The private terrace was such a treat! The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile or a great local recommendation. It’s clear they take real pride in making guests feel welcome. If you’re visiting Miami and want something that feels unique, upscale and peaceful, this is the place. Can’t wait to come back! Room: Corner Grand Luxe Suite Our stay at the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden was, overall, a mixed experience. The property itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture, lush greenery, and artistic design elements that make it one of the more unique hotels in Miami. Unfortunately, the execution and attention to detail did not quite match the promise of the concept. Noise and Comfort:
For one of the more premium suites in the hotel, the noise level was unexpectedly high. We could clearly hear full conversations from the street below while in bed, which significantly detracted from the sense of comfort and privacy you would expect at this price point. This seems to be more of a structural or systemic issue that management should seriously consider addressing. Service and Staffing:
It was evident that the large wedding hosted during our stay placed noticeable strain on the staff. Service delays and oversights were common, and it felt as though regular guests were deprioritized as the team focused on the event. This imbalance should have been anticipated and managed better by the leadership team. Communication and Housekeeping:
Communication between departments, particularly between the front desk and housekeeping, was lacking. Despite requesting service, our room was never properly cleaned during the stay, and only towel replacements were provided. Reaching the front desk by phone was also difficult, as calls often went unanswered or were redirected without follow-up. Overall Impression:
The Mayfair is an undeniably beautiful hotel with a distinctive and inspiring atmosphere. However, our experience highlighted several operational gaps that need attention, particularly in guest communication, service consistency, and soundproofing. With stronger management oversight, this property could easily live up to its full potential. Read less
