Named after the beloved wife of Hawaii’s last king, Queen Kapiolani is something of a Waikiki landmark, paying homage to Hawaii’s majestic heritage and unique culture with a modern twist. Overlooking the sandiest stretch of Waikiki Beach, guests can enjoy stunning views of Diamond Head from the balconies of their newly renovated rooms, each and every one of them furnished in breezy Island style. As a change from the beach, laze beside the pool instead, dipping in every now and again to cool off. Although there are restaurants all around you, the hotel’s own Kulana is highly recommended, not just for buffet favourites but for its sweeping panoramic views! Pre-dinner, chill awhile at the Deck Pool, sipping on your favourite cocktail – a Mai Tai perhaps?

Queen Kapiolani is a very cute, positive guest-experience centered hotel! Their thoughtful touches such as complimentary water bottles, welcome Hawaiian sun drinks is appreciated. There are water filling stations everywhere which is so convenient. We booked through Costco and got a great deal that also included valet service. Valet was quick and easy to navigate. Only down side was the rooms are TINY!! The shower had probably the smallest tub I have ever seen. And the room was as small as you could probably be allowed to make a hotel room. We were able to stream on the TV which was a nice touch. The location is also inconvenient if you plan to spend your nights closer toward middle Waikīkī where most of the food and shopping is. We walked about 8 miles a day and that’s not including any hikes/ working out we did.

Staff was warm, friendly and helpful at all times. Loved the open lobby. Easy to get to location, near everything, but right by zoo and spectacular view of Diamond Head.

I tend to overthink and over analyze things. Booked through Costco and read hundreds of reviews there as well as Google. If you read between the lines and comments in those reviews - you find an older Hotel with smaller "but super clean" rooms, an outstanding friendly staff, and a darn good location.

Yes. Yes. And Yes. It's not a modern 5 star resort, and that's perfectly OK! Overall an outstanding stay in a boutique type hotel. Staff was awesome, valet parking was outstanding.
