Named after the beloved wife of Hawaii’s last king, Queen Kapiolani is something of a Waikiki landmark, paying homage to Hawaii’s majestic heritage and unique culture with a modern twist. Overlooking the sandiest stretch of Waikiki Beach, guests can enjoy stunning views of Diamond Head from the balconies of their newly renovated rooms, each and every one of them furnished in breezy Island style. As a change from the beach, laze beside the pool instead, dipping in every now and again to cool off. Although there are restaurants all around you, the hotel’s own Kulana is highly recommended, not just for buffet favourites but for its sweeping panoramic views! Pre-dinner, chill awhile at the Deck Pool, sipping on your favourite cocktail – a Mai Tai perhaps?

Overall good. Until my reservation was “given away”

My overall review was wonderful until the final days. At the front desk, I engaged about a late checkout. Due to being military and moving with pets, I required a later time. I was offered the option of paying for half a day for a late check out which I wanted. However, the front desk required my ID which I didn’t have on me at the time. I was…

My overall review was wonderful until the final days. At the front desk, I engaged about a late checkout. Due to being military and moving with pets, I required a later time. I was offered the option of paying for half a day for a late check out which I wanted. However, the front desk required my ID which I didn’t have on me at the time. I was informed it wasn’t an issue and my request was submitted but to return later with my ID.
When I returned later, I was informed that my late checkout out reservation (at half days rate) was gone and all late check outs got booked out due to grad week occurring. I was required to book an entire extra night just to have a 1600 hrs checkout. I was moving with my dog and forcibly had no other options since my reservation was given away considering they “paid first”.

Our stay was so comfortable. The balcony view of the Diamond Head volcano and Waikiki beach was incredible. We could also see the Honolulu Zoo from our balcony so we sometimes saw the flamingos walking around and seen some of the monkeys swinging around and birds as well. The staff is great as well. Always accommodating and ready to great you with a smile and an “Aloha!”. The only reason I didn’t give a five star is because of the showers. The water temperature fluctuates throughout the duration of every shower so that’s the only thing I would like to see improved if possible. Other than that, we had a fantastic stay at the Queen Kapiolani!!

Experience met Expectation

Great location. Bathroom was a little outdated and run down but everything else was great. Service was timely and responsive to issues and amenities were as described.
I was there for work while they were hosting grad week so nights were definitely a little loud but I don't think the hotel could do much about that issue.
