Hotel is open to the public ! No privacy as selfie stick wielding tourists flock to the Breakfast Courtyard Fountain

My husband and I were alarmed when during our first breakfast in the open courtyard at Raffles we were interrupted by many tourists who were allowed to enter the side of Raffles hotel to take photos of the beautiful fountain situated in the Raffles breakfast courtyard.
There is a sign which says " no tourists" from 7 am until after 11.30 am , in English and Chinese , however very little was done to stop many groups who came past and video d themselves and us , repeatedly!!!!!!
Raffles staff failed to stop three groups that came past on our second morning , and these groups even managed to slip past staff into the opposite building , into the Tiffin Room to take selfies .
The lack of privacy in the hotel is alarming , I cannot understand why the staff don't close off the front entrance to the general public . Anyone can walk off the street into these common areas which are for guest use during breakfast .The staff seemed resigned to the fact that chasing out these groups was pointless .
In a world where Instagram and selfie sticks seem to be the norm , we chose to stay at Raffles because we thought it would give us a bit of a reprieve from the business of the Singapore streets . These tourists , who may I add bring zero revenue to Raffles , are ruining your private hotel areas .
Privacy in this hotel is almost impossible .
We waited so many years to stay here due to the extensive renovations and its closure , but sadly the constant throng of selfie sticks and by-passers allowed to enter ruined a long awaited experience .
It's easily resolvable ; if you increase the security at your side entrance .

The hype about this hotel is true. Very old history but all modernised. Actually a large hotel and we got lost a lot! Very friendly staff who will do everything to make your stay comfortable. Good choice at breakfast and several different restaurants in-house. Based in the middle of town so shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Shout out to Muthu, who really looked after us every morning at breakfast. Such a great young man who grasped what it was that we actually enjoyed.
