Shereton and Pande were both amazing!!

The gym and pool were great, but the best part of our stay was Pande at the front desk. He went above and beyond the call of duty. He answered all of our questions during our stay, got us a room upgrade and free coffee everyday with our Marriott membership. Thank you so much!

Excellent place to enjoy New Orleans
Mar 18, 2026rpgamble7Las Vegas, Nevada
Nice older hotel in downtown. Close to everything in the French Quarter. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Beds are very nice. Plumbing needs work. Hard to get hot water. Furniture needs to be replaced. Coaches sit to close to the floor. Hotel staff do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. This is why I gave the hotel 5 stars.
Our stay reflected both the level of service Marriott is known for and areas where consistency fell short, resulting in an overall mixed experience.

Our stay reflected both the level of service Marriott is known for and areas where consistency fell short, resulting in an overall mixed experience.
Several team members truly embodied Marriott’s hospitality values and made a meaningful difference in our stay. Camri at check in was exceptional—empathetic, patient, and genuinely caring. Her compassion helped turn around what began as a stressful day and allowed us to relax and enjoy New Orleans. DJ at valet was energetic and welcoming, setting a positive first impression. Ken at the concierge desk provided solid recommendations, including a gator tour that my cousin—visiting New Orleans for the first time—really enjoyed. Avery assisted us during checkout and was calm, respectful, and professional, making our departure smooth.
However, there was also an interaction that did not align with the service standards one expects from a Marriott property, particularly as a Bonvoy member. While attempting to confirm where a provided daily credit could be used, I approached a bell stand attendant named Chris. The interaction was dismissive and unhelpful—eye contact was avoided, and I was repeatedly redirected to the bar without a clear explanation, even after clarifying my question. The lack of engagement and guidance contrasted sharply with the professionalism demonstrated by other team members.
While the kindness and dedication of several associates positively influenced our stay, the inconsistency in guest service prevented this experience from fully meeting Marriott brand expectations. With more uniform training and accountability across all guest facing roles, this property has the potential to deliver a stronger and more consistently Marriott level experience.

Great Location, But the Property Needs Updating

I’ve stayed at this hotel at least 20 times a year for the past 10 years, and the location is still one of the best. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which I truly appreciate.
However, I’ve started to notice that the property is beginning to show its age. The rooms could use some updating—the carpet feels a bit worn, the towels look a little dingy, and overall the hotel is starting to feel dated.
I still love the location and the service from the employees, but it’s no longer the consistent 5-star experience it used to be. With a few updates and improvements, this property could easily get back to that level.

Not a Good Place to Stay

There were several things I did not like about this hotel and my experience there.
First of all, the hotel seem to want to charge me for every single thing. There were charges on my bill that made no sense. When I asked for an explanation, their explanations made absolutely no sense. What is a destination fee? Is it a fee that the hotel imposes to get back money lost through discount booking sites?
Also, $72 per night for parking? Not sure if this rate is standard, but it seems ridiculously high to me.
A deposit that is only partially refunded? You have to spend money on hotel food and drinks to get back a fraction of your deposit. By the way, an order of wings in the hotel was $18 but ended up being $30 because of taxes and a delivery fee. So much for getting back any part of my deposit.
The beds were small and not comfortable at all. The decor seemed dated. When we called to get towels, no one answered the front desk. We called the front desk for other reasons, and could not get anyone to answer.
Front desk associates were rude on multiple occasions, especially at check out. They seemed impatient and bothered.
The Starbucks staff were also rude. One associate told my daughter that they didn't take Cash App and rudely walked away. The main cashier acted in a manner that kept us from going back. She had a horrible attitude.
The cafe in the hotel was kind of nice. Again, however, the person taking orders had a bad attitude and proceeded to stick her hands down the front of her pants and scratch herself right in front of us. Gross!
We will definitely not be staying at the Sheraton in the future, nor do we recommend that anyone stay there. Will definitely explore other options
