Put yourself slap-bang in the middle of some of San Francisco’s most fashionable theatres, restaurants, and sights. The boutique Marker Hotel is a great base — and its energy matches its setting. It was built in 1910 but you can still see its ‘Beaux Arts’ beauty in the lobby’s floor-to-ceiling fireplace and grand marble staircase. The hotel’s anything but olde-worlde though, with little touches like WiFi, and a Hydration Station providing fruit and herb infused water on tap.

Staff was exceptionally friendly, room was comfortable and spotless, and the sheets were very nice. We loved the location -- close to Union Square, the theatre district, Powell BART, cable cars, the works -- but people from small towns may feel uncomfortable walking through the Tenderloin (the opposite direction). We never felt unsafe at all, even walking "home" after midnight.

We stayed here for one night, and were greeted by Charles and Dhali. They were amazing, had so many great recommendations for food, dessert, and things to do that were close and easy to get to for a real SF experience!

Is in a great location, Short walk to union square, cable cars, trains etc. But the best thing about the Marker is no doubt Charles. Charles looked after us like family. Always up for a chat and a laugh. Never steered us wrong with some great recommendations for food and sightseeing. Thankyou Charles and all the staff at the marker
