The hotel

Put yourself slap-bang in the middle of some of San Francisco’s most fashionable theatres, restaurants, and sights. The boutique Marker Hotel is a great base — and its energy matches its setting. It was built in 1910 but you can still see its ‘Beaux Arts’ beauty in the lobby’s floor-to-ceiling fireplace and grand marble staircase. The hotel’s anything but olde-worlde though, with little touches like WiFi, and a Hydration Station providing fruit and herb infused water on tap.

Where is it

In the Tenderloin/Lower Nob Hill area of San Francisco, near Union Square’s shopping, the theatre district, museums, and endless dining. The hotel is also close to the Financial District and Moscone Convention Center. Transfer time from San Francisco International airport: 15 minutes.

Very nice and clean in room. Quiet too! I did not hear other TVs or people talking in rooms. Front desk check in and out was quick and easy. Jena was there for both and was very knowledgeable and very friendly!

Amazing staying!!! Very convenient and the staff was delightful. The rooms are very clean. The atmosphere was wonderful. I recommend this hotel 100%!!! I'm definitely coming back !!

The Bar staff were very friendly, but I feel we need to teach them how to pour a pint of lager, the glass needs to be angled to prevent a huge head lol. You cannot beat The Marker for value, ambiance, or location. The staff are amazing; Brian, Jenna, Angeline, Blanca, Jazmine, and Johnathan did everything to make my group feel welcome. They went out of their way to check us in and have keys ready when we informed them our ETA would be 3:00am; it was a relief for everyone to be able to get their keys and go straight up to their rooms. From the library off the lobby to the massive fireplace, it’s a place that is great for business travelers, couples who want a romantic getaway, or groups like mine. The location is right in the midst of the Theater District and there are a myriad of dining choices within a short walk.
