The hotel

We all know and love those Disney classics - The Lion King, Finding Nemo, Cars, The Little Mermaid - and Disney's Art of Animation is where you'll find inspiration from each of them. From themed swimming pools to family suites with themed decor, here you can become part of dome of your animated favourites. And it's the perfect balance if you're wanting a fun resort that's a little quieter - as it's pretty spacious, allowing for a few calmer areas. Be sure to check out The Big Blue Pool (the largest one in Walt Disney World Resort), complete with water jets and a play area for little ones. And one of our favourite perks of staying here is the Disney Skyliner Transporatation so you can enjoy a birds-eye view as you're whisked right to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating No Disney songs ,lost atmosphere

The actual mermaid building was needing TLC. No Disney music was playing around the pools or resort. Instead of background Disney songs, we had The Beatles and other dreadful children's songs playing loudly. This was not the usual relaxing time we have during our stay at AOA.We definitely would not return it doesn't have the same atmosphere. It… Read more

Stayed here with my 79 year-old mom while visiting family. Our standard room had two queen beds which were very comfortable. Bathroom was on the small side and the curtain divider was annoying. This is an old motel that has been renovated and updated. I understand there are newer buildings on the property (we did not have one of those). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Upon entering our room we were dismayed to find one bed when we had specified two beds. One phone call and under 10 minutes later we were in a room with two beds. Customer service gets a 10/10. Staff was great. Friendly. The rooms were cute. We stayed in building seven in Little Mermaid room. The property was always clean. The restaurant was fast service but prices were good. Pool was heated. Lots of people in there. Not warm enough for me though. Took a long time to get checked in. Would we return? Definitely.

My family of 5 spent a long weekend at this hotel. We loved our time and felt it was a value for our family. We loved the ease of transportation. The resort is large but easy to navigate. Our room was in the Nemo section. Check in was amazing. Our experience with staff was welcoming.

I was impressed with the number of activities, pool, grounds and dining hall, all really geared to the kids, which was great for us to experience with/through the eyes of our grandchild. In fact, on our “down day” there was plenty to do and explore right on the resort property. I would highly recommend this value resort. The transportation options and proximity to the parks was top notch. Read less
