The hotel

From deluxe studios to waterfront villas with glorious views from the wraparound porch, consider this your new go-to holiday base camp when looking for serene surroundings within a quick water taxi ride of Magic Kingdom Park. There's a real rustic vibe about the resort, but whilst the resort is nature-inspired, the inside of your accommodation feels particularly modern, and is equipped with a kitchenette or kitchen for those times when you want to eat in peace. It's not all about the peace and quiet though - with two picturesque pools, a games arcade, and plenty of activities to enjoy, there's fun for all the family. And not to mention, you've got character dining on site, so book in a dinner with Snow White and the seven dwarfs, it's not to be missed.

We have been DVC members since 2004. Lucky for us, we've stayed at almost every DVC property. We've stayed at Wilderness Lodge twice, once when Boulder Ridge was simply known as the DVC Villas at Wilderness Lodge and then a second time in a Copper Creek studio. Having already stayed here twice, and visited many more times while staying at other DVC properties, we knew how outstanding this resort is. Once while staying at Saratoga Springs, we visited an Open House at the Cascade Cabins. That's when we knew that some day we needed to book a stay in a cabin. For this visit, we stayed 3 nights as a family of 6. We had just the right amount of space. My aunt and uncle stayed in the master bedroom which features an amazing en suite bathroom with a water closet, spa shower with rainshower and a huge tub. Their double vanity mirror featured a television! From this bedroom you can access the wraparound porch and sit near the double-sided fireplace. My husband and I stayed in the second bedroom which had a pull down bed under the TV which allowed for a third guest. Our bedroom had a window seat with drawers underneath, built in drawers in the closet and space under the bed for your suitcases. Our son and our cousin slept in living room. There was a pull out couch and a pull out chair, both of which were very comfortable. This layout doesn't allow for the pull down Murphy-style beds that Disney has been incorporating into their properties. Due to the placement of the fireplace and the sliding glass doors out to the patio there isn't a solid wall on which to place this type of bed. The kitchen was easy to work in and the island allowed for extra prep space. The dining table was huge. It seated eight. The common area bathroom was split which allowed for multiple people to do their business at the same time. One room featured the toilet and a sink. The other room had the shower and a sink. The bonus here is that this shower also had a rainshower head. Being in these foresty surroundings and standing under that shower you can easily imagine yourself on a retreat in the middle of the forest. As with all one bedroom accommodations and higher there was a washer and dryer unit. This is always great for going home with clean clothes! For this trip, we opted to BBQ every night and just hang out in the cabin. We wanted to soak in all of the beauty and craftsmanship of the place. We loved sitting in the hot tub and listening to the Disney music. This was a great experience. I would recommend a stay at the Cascade Cabins at least once (or more if your budget allows for it). Note, we chose the cabins along Boulder Ridge as we wanted to be close to the pool and the drink refill station near Geyser Point. The cabins on the other side of the main hotel seem to be a bit farther from the main pool area, but it appears to be much quieter on that side. I also think you may be able to see the fireworks from those Cabins. We didn't see them from our side. Just something to think about if you're booking a cabin. Read less

The best resort Disney has to offer. The Wilderness Lodge itself is nothing short of incredible, but the Copper Creek DVC branch (which is our home resort) is spectacular. The rooms are comfortable, well themed and offer excellent views from the upper levels. The lobby is the best on property, and the food selections are plentiful.

Cabins are very nice and in a lovely setting. Could do without the few guest-rented motor boats that sped by on the lake one day; but the scheduled transportation boats are very welcome – a nice relaxing start or end to any day. Cabins could do with a bit more plantings for privacy between them (especially on either side of the screened porches). Spa is great! Unfortunately, only ONE parking space per cabin is offered (although each cabin sleeps 8 so many guests take up more than one parking space). So for our latest stay we had NO parking available to us except for over in the Wilderness Lodge parking lot. In addition to being EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT, this is particularly POOR PLANNING, especially considering how many resorts Disney World has already built. Making matters worse, the front desk staff offered absolutely NO assistance at all (not even a wheeled cart!) in getting our luggage and groceries the extended distance to our cabin. MUCH, MUCH, MUCH!! prefer our DVC memberships at Saratoga Springs and Old Key West where the staff TRULY makes one feel Welcomed Home! Read less

Flawless. The cabins are in fantastic shape…looking brand new. It’s an amazing place to stay to feel part of the parks but yet have some space. Housekeeping was amazing. So friendly and so helpful, have never had service with a smile like this at any hotel in the world. It’s not a question of if we will be back it’s a matter of how soon. … Read more

The room is beautiful and the lobby is spectacular. However, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything your neighbor says. Check out was awful. I called 3 times for a luggage cart and waited an hour, one never came. I wanted to love this place, but will stick with the Polynesian or Grand Floridian Villas going forward.
