The hotel

This Caribbean-style resort is set on the banks of Lake Davenport and covers 70 acres of landscaped gardens. There’s a small beach area by the lake, and the apartment-style condos have kitchen facilities if you’d like to prepare your own meals. There’s also a restaurant on site if you’d prefer to dine out. Guests can make use of the volleyball, basketball and tennis courts. There’s a playroom and games arcade for children, and adults can relax by the pool or visit the spa and fitness centre. In the evenings, the clubhouse balcony offers a good view of the Disney fireworks in the distance.

On the face of it, the condo looked very nice. However it quickly became apparent that guest comfort is not the priority here. Sofa and chair have long lost any bounce they had. So you just fall straight into the bottom. We needed pillows to try and get any modicum of comfort. Ice machine in the fridge doesn’t work. Pans were so old we went and bought some. Towels are so thin they’re not worth having. Bed was so soft, again lost any spring it may have had. We’re already booked into our chiropractor when we get home!! Resort is ok, but again, look twice and there is many signs of this resort being tired and in much need of updating. I would not come back and would advise against this resort Read less

Stayed here for 15 nights. We had booked a 2 bed San Salvador apartment through Virgin Holidays and were allocated a 2 bed andros apartment in block 4 which was huge and very well equipped. The resort seemed very quiet overall, grounds were immaculately maintained, staff very friendly. We would stay here again without hesitation.

We’ve stayed at Bahama Bay Resort multiple times and have always had great experiences, which is why this most recent stay was so disappointing. During our 3-night stay, we experienced repeated issues with our room key cards not working on two separate nights. The first time was resolved at the front desk, but the second time it was late and the front desk was closed. We had to wait nearly an hour for an on-call staff member just to regain access to our unit. During that interaction, the staff member mentioned the door lock systems were expected to be upgraded, which suggests this may not be an isolated issue. On the morning of checkout, housekeeping attempted to enter our unit at approximately 9:30am despite a clearly stated 10:00am checkout time, which was unexpected while we were still inside. We also raised our concerns on-site, but the response felt dismissive. Since returning home, we’ve made multiple attempts to follow up directly and have had difficulty getting a clear response or resolution. This combination of repeated access issues, after-hours delays, and lack of follow-up has been frustrating—especially as returning guests who have had positive stays in the past. Had a 12 night stay here during Easter holidays. Had a lovely time, booked through virgin holidays. When we arrived we were given a top floor 3 bed apartment. Which was an upgrade as they are the biggest ones. Was perfect for our family. Eldest loved having her own private balcony and had her breakfast out there every day. We had one minor issue… Read more

Which was an upgrade as they are the biggest ones. Was perfect for our family. Eldest loved having her own private balcony and had her breakfast out there every day. We had one minor issue with a smoke alarm that decided it needed its battery changed at 2am the first night but we were so tired from travelling we could ignore. Mentioned to front office in the morning and maintenance came sorted it. Even though it was Easter the resort seemed quite peaceful and relaxed. Just what we wanted after the theme parks! Would recommend the chipotle and chillis restaurants up the road. Didn’t get a chance to go to the restaurant on site as we were so busy. Pool and splash pad were brilliant too. restaurant only open outside, Not inside. Only a few tables. Second pool bar by the clubhouse not open. These haven't been open since covid is what they told me. We were looking at buying a condo here.... We will not.
