The hotel

Situated on a sparkling 25-acre lake near Disney’s Hollywood Studios and just a leisurely stroll from EPCOT, discover this grand New England-style resort hotel. Disney's Yacht Club Resort shares a host of amenities with it's pastel-toned sister, Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Most noticeable of these is the mini water park Stormalong Bay, featuring a sand bottom pool, water slides, a lazy river and whirlpools - keeping the little ones happy when you're not at the parks. For adults there's plenty to do too, with the Ship Shape health club on site to work off some steam, or enjoy a mouth-watering steak dinner at the sophisticated Yachtsman restaurant. There's plenty of casual options too, along with tennis and volleyball courts to keep all ages entertained. At this hotel you're located right next to the marina where, in addition to renting boats to sail around Crescent Lake, you can board a ferryboat for direct transportation to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s BoardWalk. It's worth looking at the options to upgrade to a club level room for access to the lounge with refreshments available throughout the day.

The outstanding element for us was the Club Level staff. Without exception, they were cheerful, friendly and eager to help. They have made a great stay an outstanding stay. The location of the resort, having stayed at other resorts, was exceptional. Epcot is a short walk or a very pleasant boat ride away. The park is entered in between France & the UK - the best areas in our opinion! The boats also sail directly to Hollywood Studios. The Disney bus stop for all other destinations is a stone’s throw from the main lobby. The ambience & the theming of the Yacht Club are great. Terrific pool area as well. We would not hesitate to recommend this resort. Read less

We’re coming towards the end of an 11 night stay at Yacht club and I wanted to express how much of a lovely stay we have had. This isn’t a heavily themed Disney hotel but has just the right amount of Disney ambiance for children and adults who can get a bit overwhelmed and stimulated by all the activities in the parks. Our room (water view) is immaculate and was serviced daily and all the cast members from the “Mouse keeping” to hotel management have been engaging, thoughtful and helpful. We love the pool and never felt the need to “rope drop.” The location is fantastic, being able to walk to two parks is great and avoids the end of night crowds all battling for transport home. The only negative was we found the yachtsman restaurant to be beyond over priced (this is no criticism to our server who was exceptional.) The food was no better than Miller and Carter chain restaurants in the Uk and certainly did not justify the $390 bill (including tip) at the end of the night. For that price I would expect 7 course tasting menu with wine for each course. The only Disney magic here was the ability to extract cash from my wallet. I don’t want to end on a negative note as we have had such a lovely stay, we will likely book this hotel again on a return trip. Read less

He went above and beyond by assisting me and fixing an issue I was having with the Disney App. The room was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed floating in the lazy river after a long day at the parks. The only minor complaint is signage at check in. Due to construction at the main entrance, the process for loading and unloading bags and cars isn't clear and there were cars and busses moving every which way. Other than that, excellent stay! Before I begin, I have always given this hotel a 5 star review. This time around, sadly, the stay was lacking and here are the reasons why: - we were so happy that the pool had completed its refurbishment prior to our arrival, which let’s face it, is a big draw for this particular resort. However, only about half of their shade umbrellas were set up for use. That meant that shade was at a premium cost and required someone in our group to enter the line for pool entrance (10:00 AM) by 8:30! And even that did not guarantee a shady spot. Also, they had about 45 flotation tubes before refurbishment began that needed to be replaced. They were still waiting for the new ones to arrive during part of our stay, so for 3-4 days there were approximately only 15 available. We ended up buying our own at local grocery store. The water in the pool was very, very warm and we often got out and stood under the shower that stood next to a jacuzzi to cool off. The sweltering heat wave during our stay is just an occurrence of nature and had nothing to do with Disney, but not providing shade was something Disney should have addressed. - Ale and Compass : their menu has changed and not in a good way. The buffet “enhancement “ use to be offered as a stand alone menu item. It was perfect for someone wanting more of a continental breakfast. That is no longer the case. It can only be added to an entree. I wanted to order just a side of toast. Toast is no longer available!! The servers all rolled their eyes at this ridiculous decision. They offered me an English muffin which I returned because they could not toast it, again because they don’t offer toast. They “grilled” it but only on one side so it was floppy and raw on the other side. Ended up having breakfast at Boardwalk restaurant that was more in line with typical breakfast menu. HVAC: for two nights AC was shut off between midnight and 4:00 AM for maintenance. They provided us with a fan which we utilized because it got quite sticky while under the sheets during these 4 hours. I can’t come up with a solution to how this should have been handled and I understand that the maintenance was necessary. I guess it would come down to whether the down time should have been during day when people are at pool or parks versus nighttime when we all need a good night’s sleep to face another day. You can decide that for yourselves. Read less
