I visited this hotel in 2019 and was very impressed with the room cleanliness, staff friendliness, and overall experience. 6 years later, in October 2025, I will say I am far less impressed or pleased with the hotel upkeep or customer experience. 200+ per night room had termite frass falling from the bathroom vanity onto my wash clothes. I was moved from that room, after contacting corporate because the guest services first desk clerk was either unable to unwilling to assist me, unless it came with me fronting the expense for a pricey accommodation upgrade. My second room was cleaner, but it was located in a noisy area of the hotel; it sounded like someone was playing in a band all night long. This made it nearly impossible to rest. Furthermore, the on-site restaurants are subpar to say the least. The pool and beach area are run down, lots of dirt and debris that isn't being maintained by the Hilton property management, surprisingly. I love this island, but I think I'll find myself a different hotel accommodation on the next visit. Read less

I decided to treat myself for my 60th birthday on 4 October 2025 with a day pass to the Hilton. This is 90 US dollars or 180 Barbados per person. Firstly, the search engine directs you to the carribean day pass. Don't be tricked as I was It uses the phrase 20 dollars deposit per person required and balance to be paid at the hotel.' You are actually paying a middle man 20 dollars for doing absolutely nothing. When I got to the hotel I was directed to the 'gym downstairs' by a smartly dressed employee for day pass users.-which made us feel like second class users by the way when the concierge and reception are upstairs. There is also a welcome rum punch booth in the reception, which is also 'not for day pass users' So me and my small party of 3 amble aimlessly trying to find the gym to pay etc , no one helped us and eventually I asked the towel guys (not friendly)who directed us to the gym door. At the gym, (the guy got up and said 'soon come ' and we waited and waited.) It took roughly 40 minutes to process 3 people, which is signing a bit of paper and paying. I did question the 20 us dollars and was informed that this has nothing to do with the hotel. So if that is the case, how did the hotel have my name and booking then? Sound's like a tourist scam to me. I was also presented with a 180 dollar voucher for 3 people to get food and drink. Anyway after that a towel guy directed my small party to the changing rooms . On the way, I observed the pools and the bar, etc, and there was nice music playing by a resident DJ, so I was hopeful that the day was looking up. The ladies' changing room, which was a bit of a walk, stank of urine. The 2 toilets were pretty gross - one had no door, and the other one with the door didn't close properly. Kept swinging all the was through, and the lock didn't prevent it from doing that. The one with the dodgy door didn't flush properly. The lockers were terrible. The first 5 I tried were broken. I then removed some clothes from the only working one I could find to lock my stuff away. I would have expected a lady to be monitoring the standard in the bathrooms as a minimum. It was pretty yuck getting changed in there. Anyhoo still tried to make the best of it and went to order some food. Ypu only have access to a bar on the beach by the way. None of the other 2 restaurants. Which by the way open at 4pm and 6pm respectively so you don't really have access as the pass is from 9am to 6pm. So trued to get attention of Man, at the bar ....hello ,excuse me , hello??? After about 20 minutes, he said I will be with you. After a further 20 minutes , I sat down and thought sod it. My sister and son, who were with me, then went to the bar, and eventually, a lady came to take the order. It took a further 45 mi uses for the food to arrive. This is the total order. 2x 'bajan crispy' basically chicken nuggets in a slim French bread style roll with a bit of salad and chips. 1 pina cola 1 mojita and 1 berry blush. The voucher was not enough to cover this even though only 2 of us had food becausethey addedd VAT and something else, which I can't remember, which meant paying an additional 20 dollars. I stayed for a bit in the pool but left after 1 hour, and I can honestly say it felt like a total scam and a disrespect for paying customers. Do not go there and waste your time and money!!! I love Barbados, my late parents are from Barbados and I lived in Barbados for 5 years with my late husband so I know Barbados. (Currently in UK) For just under 600 Barbados dollars, the day was the absolute pits!! Read less

The pool bar food wasn't great either. A short taxi ride takes you to lots of better restaurants. The rooms are good size and the staff were always friendly and helpful especially Fred. Room cleaning was good. There's no kids club but a playground and fire show and other things that make it fun for kids including the great pool. We completely loved Barbados and found the Hilton a good base to explore from. Would recommend. Read less

We stayed in the Hilton for the last two nights of our Caribbean holiday. The hotel is nice, good facilities and pools, it is clean and no real complaints with anything. You cannot really swim in the sea outside the hotel itself but for a few days the pools were great. The desk staff were helpful and very friendly. On our last night (we were on the 5th floor) room 571 I believe, caused so much disruption it was unbelievable and nothing was done about it for over 6 hours on and off. They were an American family with two daughters, teenagers or early twenties, they were continually fighting and arguing both in the room and corridors. The lack of consideration for anyone else was staggering and yet despite multiple complaints from myself and other guests it was allowed to continue until past 11pm. I have stayed in many holidays around the world but never experienced anything like this. I was there with my young son who was woken by the noise and whilst I appreciate hotels cannot choose their customers they have a duty of care to all guests which was very much lacking. The Hilton offered we could change rooms at 11pm whereas they should have addressed the issue. Read less
