Let me start by saying the hotel is not bad … but it is not up to Hyatt usual standards.
My room was « full ocean view » but when factoring the construction crane and the distance to the beach, I should have taken a room « without a view ».
No toilet paper, no desk with a chair, a bit outdated carpet … it was a bit of a bummer for the price … specially from Hyatt.
On a separate topic, the pool is so small, they could have made a jacuzzi out of it.
Breakfast … quite cold room, after more than 5 minutes waiting for the waiter to greet me, I had to stand up and ask the waiter (who was speaking to another waiter) for a menu. They were too busy talking so they didn’t see me coming in.
My travel agent booked me a « breakfast included » room since I hate calculating the price or figuring out what was included. Well at checkout, I was told there was an extra because « breakfast included » is not fully included (I fought for it and the manager agreed to write it off). One last thing, in the middle of enjoying my breakfast (which wasn’t too bad to be honest), the waiter slaps the invoice in front of me without any warning. I was shocked, he didn’t even ask if I wanted something else. Denny’s doesn’t even do this to its customers.
To summarize, in a 3 stars regional hotel (without the steep price), I wouldn’t worry about this kind of service but if you are going to charge me the « Hyatt » price (basically the same as I paid at the Marriott Live downtown), the GM needs to get his/her people under control.
Every time I travel, the GM or his/her staff comes around and ask « how are things ». I find it funny because 99.9% of the time, it is a 9-10/10 in terms of customer experience. During my stay, no one asked … sadly.
Next time I’m in town, definitely giving another hotel a chance.

Great location as its close to the beach. Room is of good size, but more importantly the staff! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating, especially Tracy who graciously helped me during my check out. I had an awesome stay and would totally come back!
