Luxor Hotel: The hotel check-in staff refused to call security for me because I didn't have my ID, even though I provided the same information to the front desk. They could have prevented the whole ordeal and saved me some time and hassle. Shift manager Jack (approximately 3:00 PM–3:45 PM) at the Luxor Hotel and Casino treated me very poorly as a guest of the property. I repeatedly explained that, as a woman traveling alone, I urgently needed access to my room because my personal belongings had been left inside. Despite clearly communicating this multiple times, my concerns were completely ignored. I was instructed to wait in line even though it was unnecessary, and after already waiting approximately 40 minutes and reaching the front, I was then told to return to the line again from Carmella because I was in the propriety line. This situation felt dismissive, unprofessional, and lacking basic consideration for guest safety and urgency. I said ‘thanks for not helping’ and jack replied ‘you’re very welcome’ being smart with me and then walks away and goes through a door. I expected understanding and assistance from management, but instead experienced unnecessary delays and poor customer service. Do better Luxer. Since I was treated this way I won’t be coming. Comfortable beds. Useless shower. Dull, miserable lighting. Gigantic car park from which it’s a long hot walk. An ageing property which serves mass audiences adequately - nothing special.

I stayed 3 night at the Luxor and I can say I'm completely satisfied. I used this hotel as base for my daily trips to the desert and sleeping here from Sunday to Tuesday I paid around 300$ for a double room (with 2 queen beds) that was enormous and the parking. Being part of the MGM the parking is a great deal because with your access you can park at every hotel of MGM including the Bellagio. Since The Luxor is at the beginning of the Strip this thing is really convenient. Beds are really comfortable but you must consider come negative things: queues at the receptions are long, the room are "lived" and without refigerator (but they're absolutely clean) and from the parking to the room you need 10 minuts by walk. But as I told the price is great and I would come back for sure Read less

While we were there during the week day there was free water bottles at the reception area but as soon as it was weekend and was getting really busy they moved them so we had to buy it. Woke up one morning to find something black on a picture frame I can only assume it was mould (see pics). Also found something on the pillow case dread to think. Pool was being done up so ended up at a different hotel. I would y stay here again I would definitely go back to the Aria Read less

Recently back from 5 nights in vegas staying in the Luxor hotel. Fantastic location , 10 mins transfer from the airport and although it’s at the end of the strip it works out for the better. Unlike the strat or circus circus at the opposite end of the strip , the Luxor is on the busier end. It joins up to the Excalibur and New York New York and across the road from the MGM grand. 15 mins easy walk to the Bellagio and cesars or Paris hotel. 20 to 30 mins to the Venetian . With it being at the end it also means it doesn’t get over crowded which is great after being in the mix of thousands of people all day so it’s nice to go back and relax in the casino or bars without it being absolutely packed out. Don’t be fooled into buying bottles of water or snacks from the hotel shop ! We fell for that as we arrived at 22:30 and paid just short of $30 for two bottles of water and a Kit Kat ! There are plenty of shops like target across the road selling water for $2 and snacks really cheap. The famous Las Vegas sign is a 15 min walk to the right of the hotel. Also a McDonald’s heading that way 5 mins walk. Pyramid cafe is a good place for breakfast in the hotel. Reasonably priced and the portions are huge ! Staff are all very polite and friendly. Opens at 7 so try to get there for opening otherwise your in 30 min queues from 8am until around 10:30 when it starts to calm down. We found the Irish pub in the shopping centre which connects the Mandalay bay hotel to Luxor really well priced and has proper Irish bacon and sausages and a decent guiness ! Also has sport on in there. We only went in on our 3rd day and were gutted we didn’t go in sooner because the food is really nice. My only real criticism of the hotel is the checkin is horrendous! You have to manually check in which is straight forward however you need to pay tourist tax which we knew about around $200 .l but DO NOT use Apple Pay ! There are staff there that are useless and don’t really assist (the staff on shift out day anyway) so I used Apple pay and it flashed approved. It then says you get an email to tell you when you can collect your key now your check in is confirmed ! After an hour of waiting for this email I went and spoke to somebody who told me the check in failed because the payment didn’t go through, I showed him the pending balance online and the confirmation email that my check in was complete and I was told to ignore that . If you use Apple Pay it declines the payment after a couple of hours and the check in doesn’t go through in the meantime !! This happened to around 20 of us . I asked them to maybe make people aware or put signs up but got ignored. We were then given a ticket to queue in another line to actually speak to somebody at reception , you can’t just queue you have to be vetted and produce your ticket at a “gatekeeper” another 30 mins in that queue we finally got checked in. The room was huge and clean, very very comfortable bed ! If I could have bought one to ship home I would ! And again only one criticism is that there isn’t a fridge in the room, we had an upgraded room ( not top line but one below) so would of expected a fridge , you do get a very small ice bucket in your room that fits a small bottle of water in it and an ice machine and pop vending machine at the end of the corridor , so it’s not the end of the world. If you need a taxi there are always at least 10 parked up at the main entrance day and night so don’t worry about prebooking . Monorail is a must ! It goes the full length of the strip and reasonably priced $13 dollars pp for the day . Three is also a small monorail outside the Luxor but only takes you from Excalibur to Mandalay bay via Luxor, we didn’t use it as it’s not far to walk between the three. The main monorail is at the back of the MGM grand and stops at about 5 of the hotels on the strip. We also got the bus back from old vegas which was cheap and easy but has loads of stops. This is called the deuce and just runs from the south of the strip near the Luxor all the way to old vegas and freemont street. Read less
