My wife and I stayed at Couples Negril from 4/25/2026 - 5/2/2026 in Bldg. 5, room 203. The view from the balcony was wonderful! Unlike the majority of couples with whom we spoke during our trip, we were first-timers. Most couples had previously visited anywhere from 3 - 50 times. That says alot about the quality of a vacation getaway! All of the staff were friendly, fun and helpful. Donna in the buffet is a wonderful lady and has a manner that will start your day off on a very positive note. Captain Nemo and O.J. at the watersports hut were good guys and a lot of fun. The photographer (sorry I forgot your name) was fun, personable and professional - just don't play cards with him (lol). The room was well equipped and kept spotless by our housekeepers. We were treated to a different towel animal on our bed each day. The a.c. kept the room cool and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. And the view - did I mention the view? We ate at every restaurant except for Lychee (our choice). Everything we had was fresh and delicious. There was a dining staff strike during the first two days of our stay that went completely unoticed by us until we read it on Tripadvisor and received a letter from the hotel regarding the matter. The hotel did a great job of covering any gaps in service and I applaud them for ensuring the guests were well taken care of. The pool was beautiful, but we only took a daily dip in the swim up bar for a quick drink each afternoon. We spent the majority of our time on the beach and/or in the water. It was like glass in the morning with a little coolness to it. By 10 a.m. it was like bath water and so salty it was hard not to float away. We saw only 1 starfish in the swimming area, but saw 1 small and 2 large stingrays over a couple of days. The floating cushions from the beach chairs are a great way to lose track of time in the sea. The sand gravity took hold of us and we only ventured to the west end once during our trip - the obligatory trip to Rick's Cafe. The driver, (www) Mr. Waite, was a polite, older gentleman who was safe, fun and interesting. Rick's was worth seeing and the sunset that night was spectacular! You can't miss the glass bottom boat tour or the Sunset Cruise. My wife surprised me by swimming in the cave. It took a lot of courage for her to do it - but she had a blast. We frequented the "blue tarp" area almost everyday and spent a bit of time at the Office of Nature. The food was great, the music was wonderful and the drinks were cold and tasty. The company of the other tourists and locals at the bar added to the good times. Check in was fast and efficient and musicians played in the lobby while we checked out and waited for the "sad bus" to take us back to the airport. Although the bus ride was 90 minutes each way, there were plenty of interesting sights to see and the driver also pointed out points of interest and was fun. He also played good music! As I stated earlier, we were first-timers. Were. We will be back!! Read less

We had previously been to CSA four years ago and enjoyed it. This year we decided to try Couples Negril instead as my husband had a few issues walking so this place was better for us. The best part of this hotel was the beach but not as good as CSA but still gently shelving and calm water. Trying to find shade was a big problem though as you had to get up around 7ish to get a decent spot. Also our room was well positioned with easy access to the restaurants and beach. Some days there were no beach towels available so I had to keep getting up and down to see if they had arrived at the kiosk. We were allocated room 1108 which had some issues eg. Wardrobe door didn’t fit and got jammed so we had to contact the hotel to get it fixed. Housekeeping was dreadful. Our room was never done until the afternoon and on two occasions it was 4pm and 6pm. I made numerous calls to reception but just had to wait. We started off with numerous towels plus bathroom mats but after a few days these diminished. On one occasion I gave up and went to the beach and picked up a couple from the kiosk so we could have a shower. When we first arrived we were woken up at 2am for two hours and for 3 days as the next room decided to listen to the news Unfortunately where our room was situated we had constant noise from trollies being taken backwards and forwards to the beach and Saturday there was a beach wedding so the noise was dreadful. If you want peace and quiet don’t go in the block! See my video The food was mediocre and hit and miss. Our favourite place to eat during the evening was Heliconia but when we arrived at 19.30 it was always full and we were told to go and wait for 30 minutes. One evening we decided to go to Cassava Terrace which was the buffet restaurant and we even had to wait for a table there even though it wasn’t full. There isn’t any comfortable seating around the bars/restaurants either, just hard plastic chairs. The only decent bit of entertainment in the evenings was The Silver Birds, great steel band so in keeping with the Caribbean. On Friday 24th April I noticed that the Heliconia was closed for lunch and also the grill. When I asked a member of staff why she said she had no idea. Everyone descended on Cassava and it was chaos at lunchtime. We had a note out through our door to say that due to unforeseen circumstances the restaurants would be closed again. So once again the queue to get some buffet food took 30minutes and when I finally got to the food there was no chicken left. This was the ONLY place you could get any food and drink. This hotel caters for Americans, some like to shout a lot, so it’s certainly not a peaceful resort. ! Read less

This was our 4th visit to a Couples resort. It's probably best to describe it as not a high end resort but a mid level All-Inclusive. When we got thru customs we found the Couples welcome lounge area. It was very nice we could have beer or wine. Everything went fine there were no problems. Basically, the room was ok, it could have used a couch or an additional chair or 2. The biggest problem was there was no oversight of the pool or pool bar. Chairs were left with a towel on them and unattended for hours. We got a flag to put up and indicate we needed a drink. The week we were there no one ever responded to the flag. They pick up dirty glasses but never offer a drink. We always had to go to the bar pool bar. I suspect bottles are being refilled and not with the name brand on the label. I never saw one bottle opened new. The property was a bit worn. The roof had obviously been repaired and may need to be replaced. A new coat of pain on the buildings and perhaps some new furniture in the rooms. The AC was out in the fitness room during our stay. Frequently, when my wife would use the bathroom there would be staff women hiding together in the stalls gossiping. I mean like every visit. The staff at the entrance were very nice. However the wait staff in the resort were very slow. I will say the Activities Director and staff were excellent and did a very good job of pulling people into various activities. Food: Was adaquet. The one restaurant you had to make reservations for service was ok. I'd suggest not getting any Steak. Ours was always tough. Fish is a better choice. As far as location. It's on the beach in Negril how bad can that be??? It was beautiful! Read less

We visited Couples Negril for the first time at the end of April 2026. Initially, we were slightly concerned about the 90-minute transfer from Montego Bay airport, but it turned into a scenic and enjoyable tour along the north coast. Highlights: The standout feature is the beach and bay—soft, powdery sand, crystal-clear warm water, and no stones or coral, making it perfect for swimming. The grounds are equally impressive, with beautifully maintained gardens and fish ponds. There’s plenty to stay active with a well-equipped indoor gym, tennis courts, table tennis, and beach games. The range of included activities is exceptional: sunset catamaran cruises, glass-bottom boat trips, snorkelling, scuba diving, and unlimited use of water sports equipment like Hobie cats, paddleboards, kayaks, and pedal boats. The water-sports team deserves special mention for their friendliness. Nemo from the glass bottom boat ride and scuba trip was so charismatic and entertaining. OJ was fab too leading the snorkel tour. The in-room minibar was beyond expectations—full-size bottles of spirits, wine, and a well-stocked fridge with mixers that we were able to top up via the app. There’s also a great beach grill offering drinks, snacks, and even self-serve ice cream throughout the day. Local vendors were polite and respectful, never intrusive. Areas for improvement: One day during our stay, four of the five restaurants were closed due to local issues. Credit to the management team (Caroline and Konrad) for handling this well and ensuring guests were looked after. The issue was quickly handled and everything was back to normal in no time. Dining logistics could be smoother—having to queue to “register” for a table felt unnecessary when tables were available. Menus are somewhat repetitive, though manageable over a week. Buffet dining can feel slow with guests lifting lids one by one, and breakfast requires separate queues for omelettes and other items, which can be inconvenient. All of which though wouldn't be enough to stop our return. Overall: Despite a long flight (nearly 10 hours each way), we enjoyed it enough to already book return trips for December and March. If you value a stunning beach, warm water, and a relaxed natural setting, this resort rivals Indian Ocean destinations at a fraction of the cost. Read less

Playtime in Paradise. Let your adult enjoy great food, drink and entertainment.Let your inner child revel in the beauty and the sights and sounds and get adventuring. Diving, water sports, jewellery making classes with Beverley, swimming, volleyball and more and the pièce de résistance Aqua aerobics with Shamarie. Had grown adults in bellicose laughter with a workout as good for your soul and reminding you of your more playful younger self as it was for the muscles. Making friends with the people you shared the daily ritual with. Highly recommend for everyone. The team at Negrils never fail to delight. Special shout out to Shamarie, Sugar, Byron and Tracey. We are already planning our next visit. On a serious note the island was hit really hard by the Hurricane The rest of the world have moved on to the next news story yet people are still managing the loss of homes, livelihoods and loss of education in the aftermath. Please give to local charities to help address the urgent needs and be a bit generous with your spend in the local economy. This is not lining a billionaires bank account, this is helping people rebuild the lives which they already work extremely hard for. Read less
