Image of the Tripadvisor rating Resort Feel, Conference Ready: A Surprisingly Impressive Stay Across from SeaWorld

The fitness room is adequately outfitted and the resort-style pool area is spacious. For people needing a laundry room, they have that too. Also conveniently located immediately across the street from Sea World. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Other reviews commented on parking fees, Sea World package deals, hotel age, or lack of communication by staff. I ubered to the hotel so I can’t speak to the parking arrangements. Staff was very friendly and knew where my conference sessions were being held when I asked. I didn’t visit Sea World so I can’t speak to the pros and cons or package deals. And the hotel does have some age on it but they have maintained it extremely well. If you look hard enough you’ll see signs of age but the hotel never felt old, mismanaged, or unkept. Read less

We had the most wonderful stay because of the friendly staff. The rooms were clean and a lovely meeting area in the middle. Convenient cafe and shops all in one place. Hot tub and pool to top it off. A special shout out to Eric Ruggiero, a very pleasant, smiling and happy man. He came outside on his own and offered to take a family photo for us. He was always smiling and greeting the guests. More important than a comfortable bed is the service. Thanks Eric! Read less

This was my second consecutive year at this hotel for a conference. While not any single item led to the very average rating, the culmination of many things almost got a 2 instead of a 3. The front desk is slow, like very slow. I don’t think it is their systems, I think it’s their people and processes. I’m not sure if my stay was during the first week of Spring Break or not, but hey, Spring Break happens annually. The biggest thing was ice, or a lack thereof. The hotel was in the process of replacing their ice machines. To replace them all at once seemed a bit strange, but most floors didn’t have a functioning ice machine. While the manager’s solution was to bring in additional staff to deliver ice within 15 minutes upon request, this was very reactionary to a hotel full of people. Do most people really not care about having ice? The final thing was we had 2 mornings where the low was 45 degrees. This left the meeting rooms absolutely freezing. While they got it corrected, this just seems like another item that could’ve been avoided. If this particular conference sticks with this venue, this may be my last time at their Spring edition. The hotel looks beautiful inside, the atrium and public areas are really impressive and bougie. However, the rooms didn’t live up to the lobby. The beds were super stiff, pillows were flat and uncomfortable, and the AC was only mediocre (struggled to keep the room cool). The $40/night self-parking fee was ridiculous, especially when we could have just Uber’d from Disney Springs’ free parking and saved money. Overall, it felt overpriced for what you actually get in the rooms. Nice common areas, but the sleeping experience was disappointing. Highly unlikely we return. Too many other options. Read less

We stayed at the Renaissance Orlando Marriott for one night while attending Megacon, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, both outside and inside. The lobby and the plants were stunning and really impressed us. We had a hiccup with our room type initially, but the staff upgraded us without issue. The room itself was clean, spacious, and on the 4th floor with a semi-pool view, which was lovely. However, there were some notable issues. The parking system didn’t work correctly, and it seemed like this was an ongoing problem. The hot tubs were disappointing, one was closed, and the other had no jets and was the grossest hot tub we’ve ever seen. That was a major letdown. Checking out was a bit chaotic too, as there were people cutting lines and no one explained that there were multiple checkout lines, so my husband ended up waiting unnecessarily. On the bright side, the hotel restaurant was delicious, and our server there was great. The wine bar, unfortunately, was another story, the service was slow, and we ended up giving up and returning to our room. We enjoyed the upgrade and the overall ambiance of the hotel, so we would recommend it if the price is right, but definitely keep these issues in mind. I chose to give them 4 stars, instead of 3, due to the upgrade. Read less
