Whilst staying at Jamaica Inn, Winston Churchill swore the light was the best in the world for his watercolours. Jamaica Inn is one of the loveliest small luxury hotels in Jamaica. Now over 60 years old, it retains a gracious air of colonial Jamaica and attracts individuals and couples (some famous), who return on a regular basis. There is a wonderful, natural tranquility about this hotel and it has a lovely location on a private 700 ft white sand beach. Dining is on an outdoor terrace that adjoins the bar terrace. A more romantic setting is hard to imagine, and in keeping with the ‘Noel Coward’ lifestyle, there is a live band most nights. There is a cocktail terrace with a magnificent view and in step with its elegant classic approach, there is a dress code after dark. Bordered by an exquisite 700 ft-long beach, the hotel is in Ocho Rios on the tranquil North Coast of the island. All guest suites face the beach and the turquoise water. Each suite has a verandah or a balustraded balcony and many guests opt to leave the air-conditioning off and allow the sea breeze instead to do the work.

Situated on the best secret stretch of beach in Ocho Rios, overlooking some of the finest water in the Caribbean, its different shades of blue and green will refresh and rejuvenate you as you unwind in this elegant retreat. Transfer time from Montego Bay airport: 1 hour 30 minutes.

52 suites, cottages and bungalows in various buildings with no lifts. All with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, private balcony or terrace, complimentary WiFi Internet access, telephone, mini-bar (stocked upon request) and hairdryer. Please note: there are no TVs, radios or clocks. Balcony Suites are located upstairs on the main wing and east wing with tremendous views from a large balcony across the grounds to the beach and Caribbean Sea, sleeping maximum 2 adults.
All Inclusive option: breakfast lunch and dinner daily, all beverages by the glass and Dine Around option available at four Ocho Rios restaurants (Evitas, Miss T's, Toscanni PG's and Manzil. No more than two dine-arounds per stay, nor eat twice at the same restaurant).
Please note: not included in the all inclusive plan are bottled liquor and wines by the bottle, telephone calls, spa treatments and gift shop purchases. Not included on the Dine Around are transfers, Lobster dinners, drinks or tips.

Deluxe Verandah Suites feature a fully furnished verandah (on the ground floor on the main wing or east wing), sleeping maximum 2 adults.
Premier Verandah Suites enjoy the same fabulous outside space as above and have settings either directly over the water or right on the sand, sleeping maximum 2 adults.
The Cowdray Suite (named after the polo legend), is upstairs in the east wing with a large bedroom, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.
The Blue Cottage is a luxurious and private one-bedroom cottage located right on the beach, sleeping maximum 2 adults.
Beach Bungalows are located on a secluded cove at the eastern side of the property, each with own living room, spacious bathroom and outdoor verandah, sleeping maximum 2 adults.
Cottage 3 and 4 are totally private with their own sea access and are situated on a bluff that overlooks the Caribbean Sea whilst being just steps away from the main hotel. Each has an outdoor shower and an infinity pool, sleeping maximum 2 adults.
The White Suite sits on its own private peninsula, has one bedroom suite with large private terrace opening onto a secluded pool surrounded, sleeping maximum 2 adults.
Cottage 7 on the edge of the property opens onto a private cove. Upstairs is one bedroom with a balcony whilst the ground floor opens onto an infinity pool and a deck cantilevered over the sea, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

This is a very special place. We don’t often go back to the same hotel, but this is our second visit and won’t be the last.
It’s difficult to fully explain the appeal, part of it is the old school, classic feel of the place, part of it is the fabulous beach, food and drink, but the biggest reason is the staff

We have visited the Inn Many times and it always lives up to its reputation. The atmosphere is comfortable but polished. The staff are superb. The food choices are very good. The beach is within steps of all of the rooms. A perfect relaxing vacation spot.

Flowers , fruits and birds cover the grounds . In the afternoons you can hear and see guests playing croquet while they sip tall cool glasses of rose . The day moves by with elegance and restorative peace . At night the beach and buildings glow with a beautiful light as guests go to the beach or the main dinning areas to dine , why some enjoy the sophisticated room service on their private veranda. If you like to spend your day at the beach , you will meet the charming and helpful lady whose name is Ash . Ash made everything perfect with her excellent and thoughtful customer service. She is the heart and soul of the Jamaican Inn and makes you feel so welcomed and at ease. Most importantly she watched over my husband who has a bad leg . She rushed down to the beach , dropped her tray and waded into the water to help him when his leg could not support him. I’m am so very grateful to her for this incredible act of kindness . I did not need to worry about him as Ash and the ever watchful lifeguards would be there with a helping hand when he needed it. If you wish to scuba dive the Jamaican Inn makes that possible with personal private diving with the famous Resort Divers close to the Inn . Everyday there are activities for the guests , including cooking lessons , learning the history of rum and guided walks on the vast grounds where you learn about the flowers , the fruit trees and the history of this special place . These are but a few of the many activities you can join as a guest of this Inn . It is romantic. timeless full if elegance and has a soul that is so unique. We have travelled the world for years and have seen many places , but our heart now belongs to the Jamaican Inn . We will return every year to this legendary place that stole our hearts .

My husband, 16 year old and I went for Spring Break. We were not prepared for how relaxing and beautiful this place is! When we arrived we were greeted and offered a rum punch or smoothie as Kingsley walked us around the property. Kinglsey is a GREAT first face for the Inn! He was also gracious when we locked ourselves out of our room!
The photos don't do this place justice. Spectacular beach! Our room was spacious and well appointed but the verandah is what makes ALL of the rooms and the experience at Jamaica Inn! They are more like outdoor living spaces...complete with couches, chairs, reading lights and a table. Suffice it to say that we did A LOT of outdoor living there as did most of the other guests. It was really great to be able order food (which was very good) to eat there when we felt like just hanging out.
I am a planner and usually like to have all outings scheduled ahead of time but didn't do that this time. The Inn was great about arranging whatever you would like to do and it was often less expensive than if we reserved through other vendors. Kevin became our trusted driver and took us into town, to the Blue Hole and to the airport. He is a great driver and very knowledgeable about all things Ocho Rios. It was also fun to stay on the property and enjoy kayaking and snorkeling as well as just relaxing under a cabana. Albert was great about outfitting us for all things beach!
The hands on presence of the Morrow family is very evident from the great people they hire (most whom have been there for years) to checking in to see if your visit is going well. They have a number of really fun activities if you want to participate: Croquet and Rose, Shaken, not stirred 007 movie night on the beach, a cooking class (with a visit to a local market) a rum tasting and more. Shadow, the sweetest black lab, MADE the trip for my daughter! She is a sweet and friendly presence at the Inn. Shadow even went paddle boarding with my daughter!
Nicola was so great about keeping our room clean and her personality is pure Jamaican friendliness. We looked forward to seeing Patrice (another gem of an employee) at tea time and cocktail time every day as well as Granville as our server at dinner. Colton was our server at breakfast and was always welcoming. I do want to say how touched I was to see Colton sit down with an elderly guest who was there alone (had lost her partner) and just spend time with her. So touching and speaks to how the staff really care about the guests. One couple had been coming for 33 years!
