Raffles Singapore is one of those landmark hotels that needs no introduction to the seasoned traveler, but actually staying at a historic property can sometimes be a gamble. Not so with Raffles, as their experience in hard product and service absolute exceeded expectations.
We stayed in the main hotel wing, which was great and offered us convenience access to everything in the Raffles arcade environment, as well as the city. The location is perfect for those exploring Singapore, with an easy 10 minutes from almost anything rideshare. The Long Bar is of course a classic and a must do, but the tourist hustle and bustle in the bar is quickly quelled by the serene, peaceful nature of this luxurious property in the main rooms. The food, spa, and writers bar were also excellent. The senior management was also present on the floor, directly helping guests and answering questions.
Overall, this is where you stay for an experience and a vibe, but you will not be missing out on any level of luxury, despite how new and shiny other 5 star hotels in the area pop up. The Raffles has something special, and it’s executed very well. We will certainly return, and advise our friends to do the same.

Raffles is a destination by itself

Where to begin? Perhaps, with the understated opulence of this museum piece masquerading as a hotel. If you can get over its colonial moorings, Raffles is a time machine. Every vista you walk bears the footprint of the 'great' and 'famous'. The hotel offers you the best (a LOT of) money can buy to delight every sense. And it knows it. Check-in,…

Every vista you walk bears the footprint of the 'great' and 'famous'. The hotel offers you the best (a LOT of) money can buy to delight every sense. And it knows it. Check-in, but don't plan on stepping out for the first 24 hours. The hotel's in-house curated tour is not to be missed. Make sure you are taken to the "presidential suites". Just tell your uber attentive butler.

Second short stay this year. Just happened to coincide with Singapore’s 60th independence celebrations which was a marvellous weekend. Airport pickup service friendly and efficient. State rooms large and homely. They have a traditional but luxurious design with all modern amenities. Pool was quiet and a wonderful way to start the day. Aperitifs and pre-dinner nibbles in the lobby were very relaxing. ‘Butler’ service a little disappointing this time around but still looking forward to a longer stay when we can fit it in.
