This was our 10th trip to Beaches Negril and travel as a couple with no children. We have traveled to a number of Sandals properties in the past but once we discovered Beaches Negril this has been our go to spot. We were scheduled to be at Beaches from 10-14 to 10-28 but hurricane Melissa happened and we managed to get a flight home on the 25th before Melissa hit the island. Everyone at Beaches was very supportive in helping us get off the Island and we are very grateful for that. The beach here is the best in Jamaica. You can literally walk for miles on the beach interacting with the locals and just taking in the Jamaican culture. Many guests choose to never leave the resort which is fine because the resort property has a nice long stretch of beach to enjoy.. The restaurants were all good and we didn’t have any trouble getting reservations for those that required them. Our favorites were Stella, Yaku, and the Jerk Shack. Stella wasn’t completed last year so it was a new experience for us this year. Our favorite for lunch was the food trucks. The salads at the Green Machine were fresh and very good. Add a little chicken from the other food truck and you have a tasty refreshing lunch without ever leaving the beach. The entertainment is very good with a good mix of entertainment focused on the children and the adults. The entertainment team is exceptional and spend a huge amount of time interacting and playing with the children to make sure they are all having a good time. Nae Nae on the entertainment team has to be the sweetest young lady ever and every child seems to absolutely love her. In 9 previous visits I had never visited the spa but since they now give a spa credit I thought I would give it a try. OMG! I have been missing out! We decided on a facial and in order to use up the rest of the credit I also got a foot massage. The facial done by Maryetta was two hours and the best that I have ever had and the 30 minute foot massage done by Janice was also perfect. The resort is beautiful, the food is very good, and the beach is the best but what keeps us coming back are the people here. Everyone that we interacted with made us feel Iike family. Service everywhere was always exceptional but there are some staff that we interacted with that really stood out. Beach servers Shaneek and Janice always made sure we stayed hydrated. Amann who cooks the omelettes in the mill always made my morning. He knew what I wanted and how I wanted it cooked before I even asked. Kevoy the beach lifeguard is a favorite. He is so personable and shared so much information about his life in Jamaica and his time at Beaches. It is apparent that he loves working at Beaches and is an outstanding ambassador. Lesmore, Victoria, and Kamilia always made sure that our restaurant experience was first class. We discovered that Sandals/Beaches has created a new position at the loyalty office of VIP Concierge. This is a person designated to assist diamond level and above guests in handling what ever they may need. Kemal holds this position at Beaches Negril and is amazing. I think his favorite phrase was “what may I do for you”. In addition to being helpful he was also very efficient. We wanted to try the Brava restaurant at Sandals Negril and ask Kemal if he could arrange it. He made the reservation, arranged a taxi, and called the concierge at Sandals to let them know that we were coming. We found out later that Kemal had driven down to Sandals and personally set up our table to insure that it was nice. Who does that!?? It was another great trip to Beaches Negril and we have already booked for next year. We feel confident that the Island will deal with the destruction from Melissa and come back even better. Let me lead with: everyone in Jamaica (both the people and the animals) have all of my prayers as Hurricane Melissa is battering your beautiful island at this very moment. May you all remain safe and sound. Many blessings for safety and a quick recovery for all. - - - - - - - - - - I could not have asked for a better experience. Even with a slight hiccup at the time of check-in (the room wasn't ready for a couple of hours), the overall experience wasn't dampened in the end (pun intended because it was raining so hard and we got soaked down by the beach!). The manager, Danielle, was incredibly accommodating, friendly, approachable, and went above and beyond to help us settle in. After that first day, it was nothing but a great experience! I can't rave enough about Montoya in the concierge office (mazel tov on the upcoming birth of your sweet daughter!) - she always took such great care of us with her brilliant smile, kindness, and reassurance. The entertainment crew was literally out of this world - led by Darsha and Delly (Delly Sannnndwich!!), they brought continual joy wherever they went. I recall sitting at the beach several times and both Delly and Darsha came to chat, make sure we were okay, and to invite us to one of their upcoming performances and live events. At one of the live events, Delly and Darsha were sitting together and saw that I was seated alone on a back row - - they popped over, sitting on either side of me making sure that I was having fun and getting the most out of the event. Their energy was infectious and their talent mind-blowing. As you can tell, I loved everyone at the resort so much - the entire staff including the team members at the snorkeling area, spa, housekeeping crew, swim areas, bars, restaurants, etc. were professional, attentive, funny, and easy to be around. The food was incredible - my favorites were the authentic stews, jerks, and curries - just wow! The pools were great but, honestly, floating in the sea at the beach was my happy place. The soft undulating waves were very healing and made me feel like a new person by the time I left 1 week later. If you have the opportunity to do the night snorkeling, this was my favorite experience - I did this on my last night and wish I had known about it sooner. While you have to pay a fee for the night snorkeling, the $60 you pay is nothing compared to the priceless experience. On the night snorkeling, I saw 2 types of stingrays, a small puffer fish, a large puffer fish (they put a flashlight to the puffer fish which lights them up like a disco ball - very cool), a sea snake, a moray eel, 2 basket starfish, lots of lobsters, flounder, rockfish aka scorpion fish, squid, octopus, brittle starfish, sand dollar, shrimp, and a sea cucumber. I would have night snorkeled more times had I known how cool it was! The snorkel crew was vastly knowledgeable and made sure that everyone got the best experience possible. If you have the opportunity to do the sunset catamaran, do that too. You pay an excursion fee and get to snorkel, go to Rick's cafe, and see a lovely sunset. There were even dolphins escorting us each way which brought us all so much joy. Overall, my first Jamaican experience was much better than I could have hoped for. Thank you so much, Beaches Negril!! I need to say the staff made our vacation one of the best we have we had. Cooper wonders if his friends there miss him. the bartender with the new baby at home that had his Bob Marley ready for Coopermon every day. The brothers that operated the glass bottom boat that had so much patience for a boat crazy kid. And thank you Chanice in sales for being so wonderful. The smiling ladies in the gift store. The incredible staff in the concierge. The happy plumber lady that fixed our toilet. Every single employee that greeted us always with a happy face. You left a mark on our hearts and we are thinking of you and praying for you from Canada. 🙏. Don't ever hesitate to stay at this resort. We have been on many family vacations and this week was the most amazing experience. The staff at Beaches Negril are so welcoming and kind! The entertainment staff is exploding with talent and energy. Our butlers worked to accommodate any request (even White Claws in Jamaica). The kid’s camp was clean with fun activities that interested my kids and I felt safe leaving them in good hands. There are many dining options with fun experiences like hibachi and sushi or a more traditional elegant meal at Stella on the beach. The Firesky Villa was beautiful, accommodating our large party and clean! Near our trip ending, there was news of a hurricane Melissa and our staff remained positive while the hotel held meetings for transparency. Many thanks to entertainment from: Delly, Jose, Shanana, the voice of Beaches, fire dancers, John, Jonoi, all of the kids camp staffers, Royland and Chafae (5 star butler). Read less
