If you aren’t here for a wedding, you’re going to hate staying here. This “resort” is solely focused on making money on weddings to the clear and unapologetic detriment of all other patrons. You can’t walk through the lobby, you can’t visit the beach, you’re limited to the bars, they dominate the pool area. As I writ this I’m not able to relax on my overpriced patio because all I hear is the boom of wedding music. As if the wedding BS wasn’t bad enough, the “resort” has invested in some of the most obnoxious carts money can buy. It isn’t possible to describe how loud these things are until you’ve been waken up by one at 6:00am, then every 10 minutes thereafter for the next 2 hours. Let’s get on to the “resort.” We stupidly paid extra for the plunge pool, which is really a cold plunge. It’s only tolerable if you’re in the direct sun, and even then only If you’re consumed enough of their watered down drinks to kill a water buffalo. The added bonus is that the location on the ground floor really amplifies the sound of the aforementioned carts It isn’t all bad, the “resort” is small enough that you can get around fairly easily. Honestly, the only real upside to staying here is it’s a 35 minute walk to Puerto Morelles, which is a cute beachside town. Seriously though, this place sucks. It really sucks bad. Spend your money and time somewhere that doesn’t suck. Read less

We’ve stayed at several other Dreams resorts and had amazing experiences, which is why we were excited to try this location. Unfortunately, this one did not live up to the same standard. The overall feel was more like a lower-tier all-inclusive. One of the biggest issues was the chair situation. Guests were waking up as early as 5:00 a.m. to reserve pool and beach chairs, often not returning until much later in the day. Staff didn’t seem to manage or address this, which made it very frustrating for families trying to find seating. The food was okay, but not at the level we’ve experienced at other Dreams properties. We were also disappointed with the kids club, which didn’t have much in the way of programming, it wasn’t what we expected from a family-focused resort. If you’re looking for a higher-end Dreams experience where these issues aren’t present, we would strongly recommend Dreams Bahia Mita in Puerto Vallarta. (10/10!) Based on our experience here, we would skip this location in the future. Read less

The hotel has magnificent grounds. Holiday was marred by the first few days by a bad smell from seaweed which staff worked tremendously hard to clear. The room was plenty big for 2 adults + 3 adults. The entertainment team were fantastic esp for Oliver and vivi along with the rest of the team. There was so many activities every day to do. The entertainment at night was fantastic. Now for areas that need improving the sunbed booking process needs to be improved. People are getting up to book beds at 6am! Perhaps a system where beds are assigned for the week you stay would stop this. The food was very mixed. We found the best restaurants were the Asian and the seagrill for dinner. We could not book into the tapianki despite multiple attempts and were told to try the site at midnight! The buffet needs improving as there is cooking of fish and meat together on same surface which would not be best food hygiene practice. All 5 of us got significant diarrhoea and vomiting during our stay are suspicious of the meal in the buffet as the culprit. The beach is wonderful and seaweed was cleared towards the end of our stay. This is a known issue across a lot of the coast but they worked hard with tractors diggers and a sea boom to keep it out. The staff in kids club were fantastic and worked long hours looking after and minding our kids diligently. We had to fight sometime getting our youngest one out. It's well worthwhile to do some trips while here. We did the talum, cenote trip which was super. Also we did a trip ourselves into playa del Carmen which was worth a visit if you want to do a bit of shopping/haggling. Read less

Just got back from a vacation here to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We were all very excited for a 5-star all-inclusive experience and while we overall had a lovely stay (my toddler and baby were very happy in the water and on the beach), we were very disappointed and confused by a lot of the logistics of staying at Dreams. 1) The restaurant hours are not great for a family with young children, most restaurants not available until 6pm which for toddlers and babies is late. Also they don't take reservations and the service is exceptionally SLOW for every single meal. 2) The amenities seemed dirty and not well-taken care of. Our bathroom sinks were old and faulty, the tub drain didn't work, and all the bathrooms on the resort were dirty. 3) We were part of the preferred club but I could not tell any difference between our rooms/specialty status vs the rest of the hotel. They couldn't help us with reservations, were slow to respond to housekeeping requests, and otherwise didn't feel we got any special or VIP treatment as part of being a preferred guest. Overall, the vacation was lovely because we were with family, the weather was great, and my kids loved swimming but the resort itself was nothing to write home about. Read less

Fun time, Oliver for entertainment was really nice, Uzzy played ping pong with me, and Jack for house keeping filled up the fridge with what we asked for.
