While the food was absolutely delicious and we will certainly miss it, what truly made the experience stand out was the incredible hospitality of the staff. We want to give a massive thank you to Esequiel and the manager, Najera. They treated us with such great respect and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Esequiel, in particular, provided exceptional service that made our evening feel truly special thank you for such a great experience! We also want to mention Anahy, the hostess, for her warm welcome. The entire team here is kind, professional, and genuinely friendly. We highly recommend dining here if you are visiting the resort. We will miss the food, but we will miss the wonderful people even more. We can't wait to come back! Read less

Overall, a memorable experience with room for improvement. I stayed here as a wedding guest and traveled with friends. My friend and I stayed in the Preferred Club Ocean Front Master Suite. The location of the resort is ideal - just a quick 20-minute private shuttle ride from the Cancun airport. We arrived around 12:30 pm and were welcomed into the Preferred Lounge. Unfortunately, we arrived on a very busy day and could not access our rooms early. Check-in was at 3 pm, but we did not receive our room keys until 3:30 pm, and our luggage took another two hours to arrive. Hector at the Preferred Lounge was patient and helpful throughout the process. I would recommend staffing additional team members during peak check-in times to avoid long waits, especially for guests arriving after extended travel. The room itself was grand, with a spacious balcony, living area, and kitchenette featuring a microwave and apartment-sized fridge stocked with soda, water, and juice. We received a bottle of champagne daily, along with a bottle of red wine upon arrival. However, the only snacks provided were a small can of Pringles and peanut M&Ms, while a family-sized bag of chips by the pool cost over $10. The ocean views were breathtaking, and we spent a lot of time relaxing on the balcony. If you book an oceanfront suite, note that corner balconies become smaller on higher floors. Our third-floor balcony was twice the size of our friends’ honeymoon suite balcony on the fifth floor. Housekeeping and turndown service were consistently excellent. Unfortunately, the air conditioning struggled to cool the room adequately. Coming in from the heat and intense humidity, I found 75F uncomfortable. Although the thermostat could be set as low as 65F, the room never actually reached that temperature. Our ceiling fan was also very slow, and maintenance was unable to resolve the issue. I loved the overall size of the resort. As someone with mobility issues, I appreciated being able to walk between the pool, room, and dining areas without much stress. Be mindful of the many steps around the pool decks and inside the pools themselves - I nearly tripped several times because the edges were difficult to see. We also enjoyed the animals around the property, especially the handsome iguanas. I would definitely recommend bringing bug spray, as I got bitten several times. As many others have mentioned, the seaweed situation on the beach is significant. We were only able to get into the ocean on our final day. The staff worked extremely hard to clear it - often using shovels and wheelbarrows - but it seemed like an impossible task. Thankfully, the infinity pool was fantastic, spacious, and always the perfect temperature. We rented poolside cabanas, which were very comfortable. I would also recommend reapplying sunscreen more often than usual. Everyone in our group got sunburned despite multiple applications - the sun here is very direct and intense. The complimentary hydrotherapy experience was my first time trying it, and it was a lot of fun. Angel and Jorge took great care of us. I also had my hair styled by Carmen at the salon, and she did a fantastic job with my thin, straight hair for the wedding. We arrived on a Wednesday, and there were not many families or children at first. By Sunday, however, the atmosphere had become much more family-oriented. Food is my top vacation priority, and unfortunately, the dining experience was inconsistent. The highlights: Portofino was excellent, especially chef Victor’s parmesan wheel pasta. Jesus and Antonio made dinner service genuinely fun. Breakfast at Seaside Grill for Preferred guests became part of my daily routine - the divorced enchiladas with the steak on top were go-to. The mandarin juice, pancakes and French toast were also delicious, and Ignacio was incredibly attentive. Oceana served delicious calamari and clam pasta, and we loved the coconut ice cream. Our hibachi chef Antonio at Himitsu was hilarious, and the food was packed with flavor. The hot sauce at El Patio had serious heat and was a hit with our group. The papaya throughout the resort was consistently excellent, and the fried plantains at the World Café buffet were addictive. I also loved the buffet’s hot sauce section and the fresh coconut juice available by the pool on our final day. The downsides: Room service was consistently slow, never arriving in less than an hour. The spaghetti bolognese oddly contained beans. The pancakes from room service arrived cold and dense. Hibachi was the only restaurant requiring reservations, and the earliest time we could secure was 9:40 pm on our third night. I strongly recommend booking it immediately upon arrival if you want a normal dinner hour - though it was ultimately worth it. Desserts at Oceana were especially strange, as several items did not resemble their descriptions. The “brownie” was mostly cheese, the soufflé was gelatin, the sable cookie resembled a bread roll, and the crème brûlée had a texture somewhere between pumpkin pie and rice pudding. Buffet options at breakfast and lunch also felt limited, and I often struggled to put together a full plate. Lastly, our group unfortunately experienced a serious safety concern during our stay, and hotel security was not proactive or effective in removing the threat. It left many of us feeling uneasy and concerned that someone could have been seriously hurt. I strongly encourage hotel management to conduct a thorough review of the May 7-8 2026 security incident so future guests can feel safe and supported on the property. Read less

Unless you're going to get out of the pool to get to a preferred bar and you're really attached to top shelf liquors, DO NOT upgrade to Preferred Club access. Preferred Club access gets you: - access to a beach area that reeks of rotting sargassum and stagnant water. - access to special liquor that is inconvenient to get to. - no preferred club pool - no snacks in your room - a preferred club desk that... you're probably not visiting more than once. - breakfast at Seaside grill, which will get you bad hashbrowns, soft and sad bacon, and more of the same things you could have gotten at the buffet. When I found out that the Preferred Club Access that I signed up for was essentially worthless, I went to the hotel lobby to see if they could reverse that. I would even have accepted a charge for the first night, but--no--the answer was just "you signed a thing that said 'no refunds'." I'm not questioning whether I did do that, but you can't tell me that they didn't have the discretion to say "Okay. We're sorry you're unhappy. Let us charge you just for today since you're technically using it, and then we'll take off the remaining days." Instead, it's just "well, you signed 'no refunds'." That's monumentally bad customer service. You should be aware of the sargassum situation. It makes the beach literally unusable. Just search for the videos (I didn't, clearly). The smell can waft up past the pools. I feel sorry for people who booked weddings on that beach only to sit there with rotting sargassum 50 feet away. The rooms are an interesting shape and pretty good (except for no snacks). The service is good (apart from front desk). The entertainment staff are fun and energetic and keep fun things happening throughout the day. TLDR: -don't book a wedding unless you like a stinky one. -don't plan to use the beach -expect sewer smell to hit you even when you're far from the beach at the -activity pool. -don't buy Preferred Club access -don't trust the front desk staff and don't expect actual customer service.
