The hotel

Boasting some of Las Vegas’ finest rooms and suites after a $380 million dollar transformation, it’s easy to understand why. The accommodation is divided between four majestic towers with wonderful views of the Las Vegas Strip, the Spring Mountains and the hotel’s incredible pool. Then there's the Tank, as the swimming complex is known, comes complete with a shark tank, 3-storey waterslide and 13 private cabanas for hire. There’s also an infinity pool, aptly named The Hideout, which is strictly for adults only. Other temptations include a superb spa with steam rooms, sauna, massage and beauty treatments plus a state-of-the-art fitness centre to work off those American-sized portions! Several restaurants are at your disposal, including Vic and Anthony’s, one of the country’s finest steakhouses. Alternatively, head to Chart House for sumptuous seafood, Red for Pan-Asian cuisine or Grotto for Italian fare. Come sundown, Troy Liquor Bar is the place to be with a lively atmosphere, DJs and exotic cocktails. An incredible hotel with an incredible range of amenities, look out in particular for the Hand of Faith in the lobby - a 61-pound gold nugget found in Australia in 1980 with a metal detector just six inches below ground – now that’s Lady Luck at her finest!

My Son, Wife and I visited the "Old Las Vegas" April 30, 2026. Here is our review: - Overall, Old Las Vegas was loud and a bit sleezy. Lots of people competing for your attentio. Seems like anyone with a microphone and some music, magic or acrobatic routine can setup shop, many very close to eachother. Male and Female exotic dancer types out too calling out to you. Its a bit annoying and not as fun as it was a few years back. - We stopped in the Golden Nugget to play a few hands of Blackjack. The $5 table actually requires you to put down and additional $2 for each hand, so $7 can pay out $5 for a winning hand. This makes it difficult to spend an even $20 or $40 for a few hands. $20 gets you two hands not four. You get the idea. No wonder "the house always wins". - During one game it seemed like the Dealer transitioned to the next round quickly without paying out the winning hand my Son had. I could be wrong and maybe it was a "push" but was moving so fast we both thought it was a win. We should have stopped the game but the new cards were already being dealt so we missed it. - As a comparison, we played Blackjack at the Rio for over an hour at a $10 per hand table and had a blast and the Dealer there was very engaging and it was a great experience. The next Vegas trip is being planned and will stay on the Strip for sure and skip Old Vegas. Read less

We arrived on Sunday and our room was not ready, even though it was past check in time. I asked how long it would take and was told he didn't know, they had had 1400 guests that weekend. I don't care how many guests they had, if they booked the room and I paid for it then it better be ready. We did not get to our room until 6:30 pm. The pool was nice BUT the shark tank was empty and the slide was not working. Super disappointed because the shark tank is why we went there. Lots of long black hairs were in the bathtub. We ran out of towels and toilet paper, followed the instructions to request more in the morning, didn't receive them until after the third request that evening. Beds were very soft but small, only full size. Not comfortable for two adults to sleep in. We wanted to have a great experience, paid the full amount to upgrade to a nicer room in the gold tower but wish we had never gone there. Super disappointed and will not return. Read less

They are right on Fremont Street which is always a good time and there are quite a few things to do in the downtown area. Because you're on Fremont Street, the noise can be a little loud late at night. A lot depends on which of their towers you are staying in as to the amount of noise there is and there are free earplugs in the rooms to help with that. Read less

Housekeepers do not speak any English so I couldn’t tell you hem I wanted my room clean. Front desk, not friendly. Housekeeping manager, lies, never came to talk to me like she said she would and my room still didn’t get cleaned until I got bossy with them unfortunately. Shark tank is not as fabulous as they say and closed. Room service does not exist so I’m confused how it has a good rating. This hotel is trying to float by on its history. A $60.00 room at a comfort inn would b way better. Just save your money and go somewhere good. Read less
