5 we headed over to the grand mirage for a week as a all inclusive. It’s probably the best holiday we have ever had. We had the best Service anywhere we have ever been particularly Dewa in the grand cafe. He was amazing.

This is the second time we have stayed here and whilst it was good our first experience was better. We stayed in a two bedroom suite again, however the room this time was a different configuration and seemed much more cramped than our first stay. The price was the same so this was a bit disappointing. The facilities were still amazing and the breakfast there is so much to choose from. We got to experience the Lazy River this time which was great fun although was shut for a few days at the end of our trip. I also had a treatment at the Thalasso spa which was divine. Read less

We had an amazing holiday at Grand Mirage Thalasso Resort Bali. The service here was exceptional, housekeeping was excellent with rooms clean every day. The staff at Grand Mirage were all amazing, the hotel itself was clean, fresh and very well maintained, although we personally found the family side not quite as nice as the main resort area. The family side was still clean, however it lacked the same attention to detail and overall polished feel that we experienced on the main side of the resort. We ate at all the restaurants and cafes throughout our stay. With the all-inclusive package we made the most of the options available — if we didn’t enjoy something, we simply tried somewhere else or ordered something different the next time. Some meals were fantastic, others probably wouldn’t have impressed me as much had I been paying separately for them. We booked and paid for a pool view room, however our room overlooked the garden with only a tiny glimpse of the lazy river. We did ask about moving to the room category we had booked and were told we could move the following day. After a good night’s sleep in a room that was well appointed and beautifully maintained, we decided to stay where we were because the balcony received lovely afternoon sun, unlike the actual pool view rooms which seemed to remain shaded most of the day. The only downside was being located next to a storage room which could be quite loud during daylight operating hours. It still became a lovely spot for pre-dinner drinks on the balcony while making use of the mini bar. The mini bar itself was good, although housekeeping missed refilling it a couple of times and we had to request a top up. When I advised reception we would remain in the garden view room and asked whether the difference in room category could be refunded, I was told no refund was available. For us as a couple, 5 nights was probably a little too long, however the facilities on the main side were excellent. We spent most of our time around the infinity pool which was absolutely 10/10. The breakfast buffet had an enormous variety — cereals, fruits, pastries, Indonesian dishes, fresh juices, tea, coffee and plenty more. I’m not usually a bacon and eggs breakfast person, although on holidays I do indulge, however the bacon wasn’t to our liking, nor seemingly anyone else’s judging by the trays that were rarely touched. That said, with so many choices available, there was always something else to enjoy. If you’re looking to wander outside the hotel for cheap shopping, markets or budget massages, this area is definitely nothing like Legian, Kuta or Seminyak. We used Gojek to get into Legian for around $15 AUD each way — one trip took about 20 minutes, the other nearly an hour and a half! The difference being Bali traffic and whether the toll road was used. Read less
