The hotel

In a secluded bay, overlooking a beach regarded as the most beautiful on Phuket, this is certainly an idyllic holiday choice. Soft golden sand to glide along, sunsets to admire, and, of course, beautiful accommodation, ranging from Junior Suites to those set back amongst trees and tropical flowers. Pampering pursuits include a full-service spa and a beauty salon, ensuring you look and feel your best. As well as lots of sports activities you can get involved in more cultural endeavours, take a Thai cooking class and learn how to carve those fancy fruit decorations or enjoy a workout whilst learning the art of Thai boxing. Finally, a word about those restaurants, there are several to choose from, serving Thai and Western delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s also La Scala for Italian cuisine and light music, plus several beach bars for an enticing tropical cocktail!

Hotel information

518 rooms and suites are spread throughout the Bhuri Wing and Thani Wing. The Bhuri Wing is home to the 183 Deluxe Rooms and has its own lobby and pools. The Thani Wing is situated along the beachfront and all suites are in this wing and face towards the ocean. All rooms and suites have air-conditioning, LCD TV, IDD telephone, mini-fridge*, tea/coffee-making facilities, safe and hairdryer.

Deluxe Rooms are located in the Bhuri Wing and have a private balcony overlooking the pool with 1 king-size bed or 2 twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Grand Deluxe Rooms are also located in the Bhuri Wing and are ideal for families. Rooms feature a large balcony or terrace and a sliding door to separate the bedrooms.

174 spacious Junior Suites are located in the Thani Wing and have balconies or a terrace with an ocean view, overlooking the swimming pools and gardens.

The Oceanfront Junior Suites are in the Thani Wing close to the beach and have sublime sea views.

Grand Suites are in the Thani Wing and are well appointed in the Ocean Building with separate living room and bathroom with luxurious oversized bathtub.

All suites have 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

We stayed in the Vhari Wing (family wing) and overall found it to be a fantastic family-friendly resort. We would happily stay here again. There are plenty of activities for kids and a great variety of restaurant options across the three connected hotels. Just make sure to book restaurants in advance, as they fill up quickly. We booked an all-inclusive package through Luxury Escapes, however the inclusions were quite misleading and did not match what was advertised. Unless you’re happy eating at the buffet for breakfast and dinner every day, the substitute meal credit offered at other restaurants was not enough to cover a full meal. The all-inclusive drinks package was also poor value, with only a very limited selection included. Highly suggest the resort had more items to the all inclusive drink list. A major disappointment was the babysitting service. As we were travelling with kids, this was something we specifically enquired about before arriving and were told it could easily be arranged at check-in. Unfortunately, once we arrived, we were told all nannies were fully booked for our entire stay. If babysitting is important for your trip, I strongly recommend getting written confirmation by email before arrival rather than relying on verbal reassurance. The staff were friendly and attentive, although they often seemed overwhelmed, and the resort would benefit from additional staffing support. Especially in the buffets restaurants and the bars. We also had massages both at the spa and in the garden, and both experiences were absolutely amazing. The beach is not private, so expect regular vendors walking through selling souvenirs and other items. Despite the frustrations with the package inclusions and babysitting issue, the resort itself is a wonderful destination for families and somewhere we would still consider returning to. Read less

We have been here before , so knew a bit what to expect. It is still as marvellous as ever. The staff are welcoming and cannot be more helpful. I cannot write a review without mentioning the breakfast which is brilliant so much choice and freshly cooked . We had a room overlooking the sea and it was definitely worth the extra great views at sunset.

The most fabulous resort! Faultless. The facilities, incredible breakfast, breathtaking views, we swam daily at the pool and the beach. We hope to return again soon. It was close enough to Patong without it being like Patong. My husband needed to visit the medical centre there and the registered nurse was excellent also.

The family wing is amazing! The room and facilities are well equipped and clean. I have recommended this vhari wing to all my colleagues with kids! This is how much I raved about the resort.

We keep returning to Katathani! The rooms are comfortable,spacious and very clean and the gardens and pool areas especially the adults only pool is our little piece of paradise.The staff are wonderful, always with huge, warm smiles and nothing is too much trouble. We will be back next year.
