The hotel itself is beautiful, everything is well maintained, and overall the experience is excellent. But what truly makes this place special is the people. What creates the real feeling of paradise here is not only the location, the beach, or the comfort, but the sincerity of the staff. Every person you interact with seems to genuinely want to make your stay better, easier, and more enjoyable. And the most remarkable part is that it feels absolutely real — not formal, not artificial, but truly heartfelt. I would especially like to highlight Shehbiir, who took care of our room. He was one of the people who shaped our entire impression of the hotel in the best possible way. You can immediately feel his dedication to his work, his sincerity in communication, and the genuine care he puts into what he does. One moment that especially stayed with us was when we needed water late at night, almost at midnight, and he still brought it for us. It may seem like a small thing, but in reality, it says a lot about a person. That level of care and willingness to help made a very strong impression on us. I would also like to mention our waiter, Rishi, who was absolutely wonderful. His attitude, energy, and the way he interacted with us made the experience even more pleasant. He is definitely one of the people who adds something special to the atmosphere of the hotel. The team members on the beach also deserve special thanks. They were always there to make everything comfortable and easy, helping with towels and drinks and making sure guests could simply relax and enjoy themselves. Their attention and service added so much to the overall experience. People like these are the true heart of the hotel. They are the reason a beautiful place becomes a memorable one. Thanks to them, this hotel does not just feel luxurious — it feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely special. Thank you to the whole team, and especially to Shehbiir, Rishi, and the beach staff, for creating such a beautiful and sincere atmosphere. Read less

The pool is quite nice though a bit shallow. The beach is amazing, very cozy and turquoise like in the pictures! The breakfast is very good, good choice and great taste. The dinner however can definitely be better, it's quite average, good choice but nothing 'Lux', I think that you prioritise quantity over quality for the dinner, please review this. Facilities were great, the Spa lady was so nice, overall the staff were very welcoming and nice. However, the man at the tennis place (at the desk near the tennis) was quite rude and moody, please have a talk to him. Overall a great hotel and well equipped, room for improvement but worth the 'Lux' title! Read less

I stayed for the full 14 nights and honestly did not want to leave! I was in a Wellness Suite (room 6109), and the view overlooking the sea and bay was absolutely stunning. Waking up to that view every morning is exactly what I flew 6,000 miles for! The best part is that every room in this hotel has a sea view, so you really can’t go wrong. The hotel itself is pure luxury, and something that’s very important to me—it has excellent high-speed WiFi. Whether you’re scrolling, uploading to socials, streaming, or even working, it’s reliable and fast. I did have an issue initially, but it turned out to be caused by a VPN on my phone being blocked by the hotel firewall. A huge thank you to GM Gianni and Avi from Housekeeping, who both went above and beyond to help resolve it. They were incredibly patient and professional, even moving me to another room before we realised the issue. Once the VPN was switched off, everything worked perfectly. I really appreciated how gracious they both were. The standard of cleanliness is exceptional. Turn-down service is provided every evening with fresh towels and anything extra you might need. Housekeeping is also incredibly efficient—if they say someone will arrive in five minutes, they genuinely do. Also, if you hear really loud bird noises in your room, don’t worry—it’s not birds in the vents, it’s actually your doorbell! The food at this hotel is outstanding. There are à la carte restaurants available, but I personally loved the buffet so much that I didn’t feel the need to try them. There’s a huge variety, including Italian, Chinese, Mauritian, Indian, and more. There’s even a cooled cheese room, which I’ve never seen in any hotel before. A special mention goes to Deepak, the chef who made my eggs each morning. He was incredibly friendly, remembered my name, and was always happy to chat and answer questions. He also introduced me to different pickles, including one called bilimbi, which was delicious and paired perfectly with the Mauritian and Indian curries. Deepak really stood out for me and made my mealtimes even better. The Indian buffet, in particular, was exceptional—truly restaurant-quality food. Often hotel buffets can be underwhelming, but the Palm Court restaurant was consistently fantastic. I travel a lot, and this is genuinely one of the best hotel buffet dining experiences I’ve ever had—easily a 10/10. The beach is absolutely beautiful—long stretches of golden sand, crystal-clear warm water, and very calm, shallow conditions, making it perfect for families. There’s also a quieter adults-only pool area set among Banyan trees on the other side of the resort, with its own peaceful beach and hammocks. The poolside and beach service were excellent. A huge thank you to Reedoo, the beach manager, who made my stay even more special. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable—always finding me the perfect spot whether I wanted sun or shade, and keeping me stocked with cold water. As I was travelling alone, he made a real effort to check in, remember my name, and make me feel welcome. He also gives your sunglasses a great polish! They also have a gym, spa, tennis courts small kids area and a teeage kids area fully loaded with laptops and two large screen playstations! I will definitely be returning to this hotel with my family—I can’t wait to bring them here. LUX* Grand Gaube is now firmly one of my favourite holiday destinations. Read less

We have recently returned from a holiday to Lux, Grand Gaube. We first visited 10 years ago and have always planned to return. It’s always a risk going back to a place you loved, but we were not disappointed. We had a 'Wellness Suite', which is in the adult-only area, and looked out over a beautiful little cove. The hotel is on a huge site, almost surrounded by the sea, with plenty of opportunities for walks and sitting in the sun. The food is excellent, the pools are beautiful, clean and quiet, and the spa is very relaxing. Everything about this hotel is special, but the staff not only add to the experience, they are also truly a part of it. We met many people during our stay, and it would be impossible to mention them all by name. But some who stood out for their kind, helpful and friendly attitude are Giany Bundhooa, the General Manager, who was kind, understanding and helpful when we found ourselves stranded for an extra week. Ansley, the Entertainment Manager, Ashwan, Saif, Deeya, Rishi, Fredy and Steeven, who all made our stay extra special in various ways. The hotel’s attention to detail in every way is second to none, making it a welcoming and luxurious experience. Hopefully, we won’t leave it another 10 years before we come back. Read less
