Resort Fees

Guests staying in the Mexican state Quintana Roo are required to pay a travel tax of $11 per adult (over 15 years old). My husband and I stayed at Secrets Maroma for our honeymoon, and it exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we felt completely taken care of. We had the ocean front preferred club room with the most incredible view. Check-in and check-out were both quick and seamless, and we were greeted with drinks as soon as we arrived. Erik, our bellhop, was incredibly friendly, helped us get settled, and arranged a golf cart ride to our room. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The landscaping is immaculate, and it is clear how much pride the staff takes in maintaining the property. Everywhere we looked felt like paradise. The food was outstanding. Our favorite restaurant was the Mexican restaurant, we loved it so much that we ate there twice during our stay! The wood-fired pizzas by the pool were amazing, and the daily lunch buffets offered a great variety of delicious options. The paella was my husband’s favorite meal of the trip. The variety and quality of food throughout the resort were excellent, and we were impressed with every meal. The entertainment was also fantastic. The silent disco was one of the highlights of our trip and so much fun. The nightly shows were great, and the rock show was absolutely incredible. What truly sets this resort apart is the staff. Bramdon Gomez, our building concierge, was exceptional. He checked in with us multiple times each day, made sure we had everything we needed, restocked our room multiple times a day, and always went above and beyond with a smile. Ana, our poolside waitress, was amazing. She remembered our drink orders every day, was always friendly, and even brought us double drinks before taking her breaks so we would never have to wait. Alexis was our favorite waiter at the Preferred Club breakfast and always provided excellent service. Franco, the pool concierge, was wonderful and helped make our pool days even more relaxing. The entertainment team was also outstanding. Brown Sugar (Angel) kept everyone laughing and engaged, and Isabel and Monica took the time to sit and talk with us, making us feel like more than just guests. No detail went unnoticed. Whether it was cleaning our sunglasses by the pool, bringing drinks and food, helping schedule spa treatments, or simply greeting us with a smile (and remembering our names), every staff member made us feel special. The spa was beautiful, and the sports massages were incredible, one of the most relaxing experiences of the entire trip. This was the perfect honeymoon, and the staff truly made the experience unforgettable. We cannot wait to return to Secrets Maroma. Read less

He also helped us to surprise our parents for their wedding anniversary & arranged for champagne to be delivered to their room which was a lovely gesture. Hugo, Angel, and Mr G to name but a few were also extremely welcoming and they really made such an effort to make our stay so memorable. We had an excellent time staying at Secrets Maroma between June 3-10. We booked a junior suite swim out room, ours was in building 23, close to dining, drinks and the theatre for entertainment. The room was fantastic and the swim out excellent. Thank you to Angel Lopez, the concierge for building 23 and Wilma and Humberto, who looked after our room during our stay. Our room was clean and well stocked all throughout the week. Angel, we appreciate the hospitality, engagement, and care you showed us, it certainly lent to our enjoyment of our holiday. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beach in the week we were there. Thank you Alberto and Rene from the beach/Palapa bar team for your great hospitality and some time at the pool too, thank you Anna for your frequent check ins with us and keeping us hydrated 😊. Entertainment was great all throughout the resort too, so depending on the type of holiday you are planning, active or laid back, Secrets Maroma and their team can deliver on all levels. Some closing points to try and cover as many topics of interest as possible: check in/out was quick and easy. The reception team were friendly and courteous each time we spoke with them. Noise was never a concern in our experience, never a problem at night. The pool area did get busy most days and on certain days challenging to find a spot, which wasn’t a big deal to us as we A) spent hours at the beach daily anyways relaxing under the palapas, listening to the waves and enjoying the breeze off the ocean and B) used the swim out at our room frequently too. The resort is adding another pool as well and once this is complete I can only imagine it adding further enjoyment to those enjoying a holiday there. Read less

Secret Maroma – a great getaway!

Excellent service! The grounds are very beautiful, clean, and spacious. The beach is excellent, with good service and plenty of shade. There can be a lot of seaweed at times, but that happens everywhere.

Every meal felt like a special experience, and the attention to detail was evident in everything from presentation to service. What truly made this trip unforgettable, however, was the staff. Every employee I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in making guests feel welcome and cared for.
