We had such an amazing stay at this resort. The property is absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious, and our swim-out room was spacious, relaxing, and honestly made the whole experience feel even more luxurious. There was always entertainment going on during the day and every evening, but the overall vibe still felt very chill, romantic, and perfect for couples wanting to unwind. The nightclub was fun for a night out, and the coffee shop was so good — definitely one of our favorite little spots on the resort. The Preferred Club was also a really nice touch with access to a private beach area and exclusive club space that made everything feel more peaceful and elevated. Marcelo, our concierge, was fantastic and went above and beyond for us. We had no idea that pants and closed-toe shoes were required for men to eat inside the restaurants for dinner, and he helped my husband get pants so we could still enjoy our dinner plans without stress. That level of service really stood out to us. The staff overall were incredibly friendly and hardworking — there was always someone cleaning, helping, or checking on guests, and every interaction came with a warm “buenos días” or “hola,” which made the atmosphere feel so welcoming. The only downside was the “90-minute presentation.” It felt very pushy and lasted much longer than promised, so I’d personally steer clear of that if you’re trying to fully relax and enjoy your vacation. Where do I begin? I know! Let’s start with the “Welcome!” From the moment we stepped onto the resort, the magic began! The resort is absolutely breath taking! The check in was a breeze! We had a preferred club reservation and they pulled out the red carpet! We had our very own personal concierge named “Roger!” Roger was so welcoming and helpful! He explained everything and didn’t skimp on any details! He texted us daily with every hotel activity from morning till night! The room was amazing and came with our very own beach bag and personal refillable and stylish water canteens! There was so much to do everyday you didn’t even have time to fall asleep! I am familiar with the “Secrets” brand however, this location by far Is the best one ever! The curated art theme that intertwined with the decor and ambiance is noteworthy! The premium top shelf liquor selection at the club lounge is worth the price! The food was top tier! I really enjoyed my stay! Alejandra was excellent at hosting the Bike tour and pool aerobics! She really is a gem! I really love how the front desk would give us a courtesy call daily to see how we were doing and if we had any questions! At one point I was starting to worry about how many calls we were going to get! However, I did appreciate the staff going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable! Let me not forget the poolside activities were 5 stars! The sunglass cleaning was a nice touch and something I can appreciate and now expect from every hotel! I do want to say there was one minor hiccup which we addressed at the front desk! There was an older gentleman at the swim-up bar working alongside a young girl who kept ignoring the brown skin people. In not sure what that was about but it left a bad feeling in my gut! I hope those two get the re-training they need and learn from it! I decided not to get any drinks from the swim up bar while they were on duty! They were just unbelievable rude! However, I will not let one bad apple spoil such an amazing experience! I give this resort a 10/10! This was an incredible experience and I’m definitely going to revisit! We had a wonderful experience. The food was great. The atmosphere was so friendly and inviting. The employees were super great. Our room was so nice and Noehi took such good care of the room. It was always clean and fresh towels. The entertainment was great. Bramden was a great at setting up our appointments with spa and beach bed. He always let us know what events were for the day. We were waited on by some many friendly employees. Catalina took care of our needs by the pool area. Manuel took care of us on our beach bed. Alfredo was a gem to us in the preferred breakfast every morning. We even made a friend with Oscar Mejia from the entertainment team. We would definitely recommend Secrets Maroma Riviera Beach. First and foremost, I wanted to mention this trip which was very highly anticipated set the bar high because of our travel agent, Cody Fielding with For the Love of Travel, Estefani Rodriguez onsite sales and building 17 concierge, Guillermo. Prior to arriving about six weeks out thereabouts I had been put in touch with Estefani to pre-book our pool Bali bed and beachfront Bali bed for several days. Not only did she take the time to take pictures and point out different angles, and which ones she suggested, but was extremely responsive, friendly, and very professional. We pre-booked a poolside Bali bed, Holbox and 3 days for the beach front row but Mother Nature had other plans. We ended up booking the Holbox pool Bali bed 3x during our stay. Definitely reach out to her to pre-book any of the services offered, including the beds, extras, romantic dinners, etc. you won’t regret it. About a week before we were due to arrive our travel agent Cody let us know that he was able to get us a complementary upgrade to an oceanfront suite from our original preferred club swim out!! Upon arrival when we checked in around lunchtime, we found out not only did we get a complementary upgrade to an oceanfront in building 17 but we were upgraded even further to a honeymoon suite!! We were placed in building 17, 2nd floor room 1721. THANK YOU! Rewind: We landed at the airport about 20 minutes early, and we went through the airport, including waiting for checked luggage within 10 minutes tops, which is almost unheard of! Our private transfer was waiting for us and we arrived at the airport within 30 minutes. So far the best experience landing at the Cancun airport with checked luggage in record time over years of travel. After checking in, we headed to the preferred club beach club for lunch and our room was ready within 35 minutes or so. We weren’t even finished with our lunch. Lightning fast! We headed to our room and was completely blown away, not just the size and the additional half bath, but the beautiful layout, two balcony doors leading out to the oceanfront with a soaking tub probably big enough for six people lol. We were able to fit both of our rafts in there. It was so relaxing! Estefani and our concierge Guillermo decorated our room with balloons, Happy Birthday lettering on the bed, a beautiful card from the both of them and the most delicious homemade carrot cake for my birthday!! I want to highlight some things that were very special to us and all of the staff members that made a difference to us- but ALL of the employees- staff are assets to Maroma. Building 17 concierge, Guillermo (always with a smile and a pleasure to help. He is such an asset to Maroma!! if management is reading this can I make a suggestion please I don’t know how it would work though. I noticed that his desk is at the very end of building 17 whereas all the other concierge’s are placed at the entrance closer to the pools and walkways. I feel he would have a lot more client interaction and exposure if his station was moved to the entrance of building 17 and not to the back. Sales, Estefani Rodriguez Preferred club lounge bartender, Toribio Seaside server, Salvador Bali bed waitress, Ana (Maroma she is a huge asset- keep her forever) Ruben, Head Chef at the Grill (our travel agent has known him for many years) even arranged for not one, but three plates of chocolate covered, covered strawberries, special order lunches etc. a KEEPER!! Sunglasses cart, Mauricio and Edy Concierge as a sub for our pool Bali bed as well as the preferred club beach club, Franco!!! I understand that he is in training to be a concierge. I hope to see him on our next visit in one of the buildings because he is top-notch. Preferred club greeter at Oceana and the beach club, Margarita. Our beautiful & lovely housekeeper, Norayda (hugs) I had been to this resort once in 2012 and had very good memories this trip exceeded those memories and then some a few things to mention. Blackberry margaritas with Don Julio Blanco & tajin!!! My new obsession. All of the food was absolutely amazing especially breakfast for a preferred club, every day there were events in the pool and the gazebo next to building 17 by the pool had daily crafts or activities to participate in. we saw a couple of shows they were all wonderful in the theater and also poolside, but our favorite was Casino night on Saturday nights in the main lobby. Wow that was so much fun and the live band they had during casino night was so good. There’s probably so much more that I could mention, but this is a book already. After the upcoming renovations this year, we definitely want to return in the spring of 2027!! Read less
