The hotel

A member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Shutters on the Beach is an award-winning establishment with a distinctly discerning clientele. Similar in style to a 1920s or 1930s beach resort, it is light, airy and luxurious with many works of art on show, including pictures by David Hockney and Robert Motherwell. Rooms and suites boast all the comforts of home and are very generous in size with great views of the ocean. Shutters is quiet luxury with an amazing team that genuinely seems happy to be there. The events marketing team is wonderful - Li-ling, Maddie, Saule make planning a wedding easy and happy. Great apparel choices in the gift shop and Leila makes it so fun. Great food and drinks and magical setting.

Fantastic hotel. Refined accommodations with great amenities. Right on the beach. The hospitality and customer service here is incredible. I’m a very light sleeper and Akeem helped me with a room change that was above and beyond expectation. Here for a business event, but feels like a vacation.

Location is also great, with free bicycles to explore the area. 2 things could be improved: the pool is a bit small but the real inconvenience is that it has too much chlorine, I got a rash. Also, the food (lobby & room service) could be improved. Breakfast is good but breakfast is easy :) Best hotel is Los Angeles for me! Read less
