This is an older property that's genuinely in need of a refresh — worn carpet, a room door that wouldn't stay closed without a firm shove (a real safety concern), and no elevator key card security, which feels like a significant gap for a Times Square hotel.

This is an older property that's genuinely in need of a refresh — worn carpet, a room door that wouldn't stay closed without a firm shove (a real safety concern), and no elevator key card security, which feels like a significant gap for a Times Square hotel.
But the service? It slays.
The security team in the lobby is warm and outgoing, and then there's Josh, the breakfast restaurant host. I was out of the hotel at 6 am, walking to Starbucks, when he spotted me on the street, stopped me, introduced himself, and asked about my stay. That's not hospitality training — that's just a genuinely good human. The new concierge, Alison, is a theater fangirl who looks like she'll be wonderful.
The gym is small but well-equipped — Peloton riders, note that there are two bikes, with one tucked away in an odd little nook. The room was compact (standard for NYC) but smartly designed with functional storage for suitcases and toiletries. A few misses: no makeup mirror and no bathroom night light.
The building needs work. The people make it worth it.

This was my second stay at this hotel. My first stay was great. The room was large and quiet with nice views. This time my room was in Union Tower. Room was dated and not as clean as I would like. The street noise was really bad at 1am. The following morning the noise from the open atrium below was equally bad. As a platinum member i wasn’t given an upgrade and no mention of the destination fee and food/beverage credit. Just really disappointing. I won’t stay here again.

Good sized rooms and classy vibe.

We took our kids to NYC for the first time, and decided to stay in Times Square so they could get the full touristy vibe. We ended up booking this Westin, and had a great stay.
I never expect large rooms in Manhattan, but these rooms actually had a good size. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us and our big bags. The decor was modern and felt like it was recently renovated. The shower had really good pressure too.
The lobby was very nice and classy. The lobby bar was a good place to grab a drink also.
Location was great, with plenty of restaurants nearby. I would recommend the Westin if you want to stay in Times Square.

Excellent location spot on for exploring NYC. Hotel was nice, had all amenities required, Room was a little cramped but we did have two double beds. Slight issue on arrival, got to the hotel late approx 6pm, to be told that rooms were not ready, told maybe an hour, so we left bags and went to get some food, returned 90mins later to be told again…

Excellent location spot on for exploring NYC. Hotel was nice, had all amenities required, Room was a little cramped but we did have two double beds. Slight issue on arrival, got to the hotel late approx 6pm, to be told that rooms were not ready, told maybe an hour, so we left bags and went to get some food, returned 90mins later to be told again that the rooms were not ready. Long story short, we finally got in to our room at approx 8.30pm, other people in our party had to wait until approx 10pm. After a long day of travelling this was not welcomed as we were all very tired. Hotel did offer some compensation though with vouchers at their restaurant. Concierge was very helpful during out stay, assisted with tickets for shows, booking restaurants and general advice. All in all, a nice hotel, would return.
