The hotel

As if this hotel wasn't luxurious enough already, the recent renovations have taken Sandals Royal Bahamian to another level - and they're ready to welcome you back to experience everything new they have to offer. The swim-up suites are the standout room type at this property, allowing you to step right from the comfort of your room straight into a gently flowing river pool with views of the ocean ahead. The Island Village offers privacy and romance and; as with all Sandals properties; the butler service will leave you not having to lift a finger. The real highlight of this Sandals hotel is the private offshore island - just jump on a Love runner and you'll be there in 5 minutes. It's basically a resort in itself, complete with beach club, pool, swim-up bar and spa experiences. Paradise: found and included. When you are feeling a bit more adventurous, there are a host of activities included in your stay so you can work up an appetite. You'll be spoilt for choice when you do get hungry though, with 10 gourmet restaurants and 2 food trucks - you'll have to make sure you stay long enough to ensure you try them all!

Terrible experience. Avoid this resort. Lost entire first day waiting to check in. Terrible communication. Will never visit a Sandals again. No wi fi service at resort. Needed to use cellular. Go to Baha Mar or Atlantis! Crappy service in every way.

We recently stayed at Sandals Bahamas Resort and had an experience that, while not terrible, fell well short of the luxury and consistency we expected. There were definite highlights, but also several issues that impacted our comfort and overall satisfaction. The Positives: Excursions: The excursions were easily the best part of our stay. Well-organized, scenic, and truly enjoyable—these activities allowed us to explore the beautiful surroundings and created some lasting memories. Clean Beach & Pool Areas: The beach was stunning—clean, well-kept, and perfect for relaxing. The pools were similarly well-maintained, offering a great spot to unwind during the day. Pleasant Dining Variety: The food throughout the resort was decent, with a good variety of options, though not quite up to the level of excellence we had anticipated. Friendly (Mostly) Staff: Many staff members were warm and courteous, though we did notice that some interactions felt scripted or forced, lacking the genuine hospitality that typically defines Sandals resorts. The Negatives: Butler Service: Unfortunately, the butler service was underwhelming. There was minimal engagement or follow-through, and it often felt like we were on our own rather than receiving any kind of elevated, attentive service. Power Outages: Several overnight power outages left us without air conditioning, making sleep difficult in the humid climate. For a high-end resort, this was a surprising and uncomfortable issue. Elevator Issues: Elevators were frequently out of service, which became frustrating, especially when returning from excursions or heading to meals. Room Comfort & Cleanliness: The bed was uncomfortably firm, and the pillows were flat, providing little support. We also noticed stains on the couch and curtains, which detracted from the overall cleanliness and comfort of the room. Towels and washcloths were taken by housekeeping and not replaced, requiring multiple follow-ups. The lighting was impractical—the only lamp in the day room was tucked in a far corner with no switch, and the lights for the powder room were oddly located by the bedroom door, making navigation at night confusing and inconvenient. Final Thoughts: Sandals Bahamas has the bones of a great resort—beautiful surroundings, solid amenities, and some truly kind staff. But unfortunately, our experience was marred by too many operational and comfort-related issues to justify the premium price. With improved room maintenance, more attentive butler service, and better consistency across departments, it could live up to its luxury branding. Would we return? Possibly—but only if we heard these specific issues had been addressed. Read less

The food was unbelievable especially Butches and Soy were our favorites. We also had two great breakfasts at the French restaurant. This time we opted to have a couples massage and this was also fantastic. I couldn’t ask for a better trip and the people make such a difference. Only negative comment is bring back the fish tacos at Coco Queen the conch is just too chewy in a taco. Thanks, Christie G. The following people had special mention: Alkera concierge Cameron food trucks runner made sure we had everything very nice Marcan Mr. B’s great drinks Johnathan beach bar friendly Stephanie and Andrea spa Mayla soy hostess so helpful and kind Pauline soy waitress was wonderful Janay calico nice lunch Mr. T main pool bar always made sure we were having a good time Darcell Quiet pool bar great drinks Faby coconuts bar lots of fun Read less

Our wing smelled very moldy/mildewy so if you are sensitive to that you won't like this resort. I have never been to the Caribbean and had such bad service and food. We've been to many Sandals and so it's natural to compare/contrast to other properties. It's close to the airport (15 minute ride), beautiful beaches and water, and the resort is just the right size. Easy to get from one end to the other. We stayed in a East Bay Honeymoon Beachfront Butler Suite - BP (room 509) and the view was amazing. It was a butler level room and we had Kimerly and Dylan who were both fantastic. Highly recommend them if you get a butler level room. Met wonderful people from all over the world and although it did rain a bit each day (it was rainy season and we knew that when booking), we still got into the pool or ocean every day. I also took advantage of the spa and got a wonderful massage that took 60 minutes. Read less
