The resort was good I will give a 5 star if I didn't had issues with a Supervisor Ozuna and Agustin Rodriguez , based on the politic of the resort they took our personal stuff from the swimming pool area. Argumented that our staff was unattended for more than 1 hour.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Mexico. Beyond the beautiful amenities, stunning pools, spacious rooms, and the great variety of restaurants, what truly made this trip unforgettable was the incredible service from the staff. A very special thank you to the activities team: Mario, Oscar, Anthony, Sina, and especially Carlos and Arantxia, for whom I had a real soft spot. Their energy, kindness, and attention truly made my stay exceptional. I would also like to thank Francisco, the pool server, José, the concierge from Building 9, Noémie, the hostess at Himitsu, Augusto, the waiter at Portofino, and Marisol, the hostess at Portofino, for their warmth and professionalism. A big thank you as well to all the servers and hostesses at the Market Café, who were absolutely lovely throughout our stay. Every single person we interacted with helped make this vacation special. I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly come back again! Anouar. Read less

Omg where do we start and finish with this resort. Firstly I would say that if you’re reading this review contemplating whether to book a vacation at this resort don’t bother reading any further, just go and book it and get here as soon as possible. From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave you are made to feel so special. The resort itself is set in like an immaculately kept tropical rain forest, where wildlife wonder around freely which is beautiful to see. We had a preferred room in Block 5 which was perfectly placed to access all the facilities. Our block concierge Louis was excellent and helped us out with a few things during our stay including arranging a room on our last day for us to shower and get get changed in as we had a late evening flight. Nothing we requested was a problem and we were constantly being updated daily via what’s app. Our room was spacious with everything you could possibly require including a jacuzzi bath internally and even a private bath on the balcony. There’s a selection of pools here from the quiet relax pool which we used mostly to the all action pool nearest to the beach for the younger more energetic guests. We did spend a day in the middle pool which was lovely along with a beach day but the location of the relax pool to the coffee shop was a winner for us. Food wise the selection is exceptional. From the Market Café to the finest Bordeaux French restaurant, the quality is amazing. We loved the fact that there was no need to book them, and that you could just decide during the day what you fancied and just stroll up and never wait more than 20-30 minutes for a table. Most times you got seated immediately. We couldn’t fault the food at any of the restaurants and we tried them all, but our favourite was Oceana, the coconut shrimps and sea bass are to die for. All of that said without doubt the best part of this resort is the staff that work here. I genuinely don’t have the words to describe how amazing every single one of them are. From the gardeners through to the pool assistants each one are so polite, professional and incredibly helpful and without doubt lift this resort to a level very few could even come close to producing. This resort is paradise and I don’t say like likely. Can’t wait to return and catch up with so many friends me made within the staff here. There slogan is welcome home and I can’t wait for them to say that to us again. Thankyou Secrets Akumal for making our stay such an amazing time for us with so many wonderful memories to take away. Until next time. Read less

Staff and service here are truly 10/10 and the highlight of the resort. Everyone went above and beyond, and the level of hospitality was unmatched. We chose Secrets Akumal for the adults-only atmosphere, all-inclusive convenience, and easy snorkeling access. The resort itself is beautiful with an amazing jungle vibe, great pools, and a relaxing atmosphere. There are 3 large pools, including a quieter pool away from the louder activities, which was perfect for relaxing. Nightly entertainment and live music were also enjoyable overall. The beach unfortunately had significant sargassum during our stay due to record-high levels. The staff worked hard to clean it, but the smell and discoloration definitely impacted the beach experience. Not the resort’s fault, but something to consider when planning. Snorkeling directly from the beach was convenient, but one downside is that the sea turtle area is roped off unless you pay for a guide. You can still see coral and fish in the free area, but I wish this had been made clearer beforehand. Special shoutout to our concierge José Mejia, who was fantastic throughout our stay. He helped with restaurant reservations, transportation, and even got our broken TV replaced the same day we reported it. Giovani at the front desk also went above and beyond by helping us get an early room after our early morning arrival, and Giovanni at Market Cafe was consistently attentive and friendly. Where this resort fell short for me was the food quality. For a 5-diamond resort, I expected fresher food. Much of it felt reheated or repurposed rather than freshly prepared. Market Cafe was the main breakfast and lunch option and often served very similar food throughout the day. The other lunch spots were also disappointing. As someone who values good food, this was a major downside. Overall, Secrets Akumal absolutely delivers on service, ambiance, cleanliness, romance, and relaxation. However, the lack of fresh, high-quality food is ultimately why I would not return. Read less

We traveled to this resort for 7 days 4/20-4/27 and this is our 3rd time at this resort, we have been to several secrets resorts and this is our favorite. The great service, friendly staff and excellent entertainment team made our experience stand out, Alejandro (rene) remembered us from previous visits and he conducted the jungle tour and it was excellent, we learned so much, also every event that Alejandro was involved in made our time there more enjoyable, also Tina was friendly, full of energy and made everything fun, also Oscar and Anthony were great too. Our Concierge was Gina the 1st few days and she was great, then Araceli became our Concierge and she took care of us and remembered us from a previous visit and she was excellent. Noemi from Himitsu was very friendly, always greeted us with a big smile and waved at us when we walked by. We decided to have dinner at the Oceana on our last night there and the manager Michelle and the chef Angel made sure our last dinner was special and memorable, it was awesome. All of the staff at the Market Cafe were awesome, we had breakfast and most of our lunches there so they got to know us, Antonio and Eliazar stood out to us, also the hostesses Maria and Maria always had a smile and made us feel welcome. Last but not least the beach server Sharon always made sure we were well hydrated and taken care of, she was amazing and the best. Also a special thanks to our UVC customer rep Mauricio for always sending us a morning text with updates on the daily events. Read less
