We had a wonderful experience taking our sunset photos. The photographer was so helpful and had a great eye for capturing the perfect family photos. I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity!

The pool is nice (albeit crowded) and the beach is beautiful and private. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent. There is an upscale and a casual restaurant. We did not try the upscale restaurant. The casual restaurant was fine. There are a couple of restaurants within a 10 minute walk for breakfast/lunch/dinner. There is a much smaller selection than downtown Clearwater, but if you're looking for a low key beach vacation, this place is perfect. One small note of discontent: the scent of the in-room shampoo/body wash/conditioner/lotion is too masculine. Something more green, or beachy or neutral would be better. Read less

The restaurant had great food and service and was family friendly and open late. Our server was Lexi and she was very welcoming and provided great service and was willing to help and accommodate our children’s picky eating habits.

My husband & I recently spent 2 weeks ( 14 nights) at the Sheraton Sand Key resort. We booked a king gulf view suite with an average price of $550 to $600 per night plus taxes, a $25 per day resort fee & $35 per day parking fee. You do the math…this was an expensive vacation. Where do I begin…. The room had adjoining doors to the rooms on either side of us. These doors are NOT shown on any of the pictures on the web site altho’ the front desk told me ALL suites have adjoining doors. We experienced screaming loud children, crying babies in the middle of the night, arguing teenagers, loud talkers, loud snorers… you name it, we heard it. What we did not experience was privacy. The pictures of the suite shows a beautiful L shaped cream colored couch. It is VINYL!!! Material you would use outside next to a pool. My husband would sit on it & immediately slip down. Very uncomfortable. There were 2 restaurants. The breakfast buffet (I think it was $20 per person) had powdered eggs & limited offerings. There was cream cheese next to the toaster but no bagels ( you could get one for an additional cost). We’ve had better breakfasts at other moderate hotels with free breakfasts. The dinner menus in both restaurants were pretty much the same. Probably the best meal I had was a salad from the food truck next to the pool. We ended up eating the majority of our evening meals across the street at the Marriott. We also ate at the Columbia ( next to the Marriott). Since I walk with a cane & we were expecting rain that evening, my husband asked at the front desk if there was a shuttle that could take us to the restaurant. One word answer… NO. Bottom line is….do NOT waste your money staying at the Sheraton Sand Key. As a Bonvoy member, we have stayed in many hotels but made a big mistake wasting our $ here. Read less

Check in was friendly and easy. The rooms were ok. The door to the room had a gap that let light in all night. The hallway was noisy and loud. The beds were uncomfortable and the pillows smelt and should be changed out from time to time. The maid did not replenish tp and tissues. She removed towels and didn't replace them so we were short towels to shower. The pool was too overcrowded and small to enjoy. There were never any chairs. No staff checks and removes towels so was just a mess of dirty towels on chairs. There was golf carts to bring us to the beach which was helpful. The chairs at the beach were rental only at $45 a day. A good resort will supply chairs. Parking is also $25 a day. The hotel charges a hotel/resort fee which states it is for the trolley but the trolley is for everyone in Clearwater. I don't know what the resort fee is for as everything is an up charge. The person at checkout didn't even ask how my stay was as he already knew it blew. I will not be back. There are so many resorts there to choose. This one is not it. Read less
