I, along with my sister and cousin, recently stayed at the resort from May 8th to the 11th. We went on the trip to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. During our stay we were locked out of our room for THREE hours. This was due to the battery of the lock being dead. It was a constant back and forth between the front desk and engineering team. This ordeal started at around 9pm and we didn’t get into our room until about 12:30am. We were told several times that the engineer would be arriving soon or he was already on his way to the room but this was not true. We must’ve gone to the front desk at least 5 times. Come to find out that the engineer himself couldn’t go into his office either due to a similar issue and they had to bring in someone from another hotel. We had other guests who went to speak to the front desk staff on our behalf as well. If this was an issue that was going to take a long time then they should’ve let us know from the get go. Instead we were lied to and misled. Imagine if we would’ve had to leave for our flight?? It was honestly ridiculous but the lies did not end there. As a result of this error, the front desk person talked to the manager Rafael, who had already gone home but I guess the front desk person was able to talk to him, and he said that we would be compensated for our night. Upon checkout we were told Margaritaville would also wave the hotel fees by this same front desk person. However, I checked my bank statement and all I have is a refund of $0.04 (from the fees). I tried contacting them through the contact page on their website and waited more than a week to see if I got a response or the refund. However, I have not gotten anything. I would like to think that the hotel would have honored its word especially after the inconvenience it caused us especially as this was something that not only disrupted our night but the night of the kind guests who waited with us. It’s a really pretty property and having stores/entertainment nearby is great but accountability matters. If someone from the team wants to rectify this or explain why we didn’t get a refund when we were told we would, please let me know. Read less

Absolutely terrible customer service at vstays… We have stayed at Margaritaville Resort Cottages several times in the past. We went up this weekend for our daughter’s birthday and we treated with zero customer service with this new company. The house was not what we reserved. We reserved a three bedroom with a pool and were given a two bedroom and the employee Sallena has zero customer service. We always bring a toy poodle with us and pay $75. Sallena informed us no pets were allowed under vstays… and looked lost for words. She told us we could change our reservation and never mentioned that if we didn’t the fee was $250. Mind you Margaritaville and the cottage rentals allow pets. Just not this vstays third party company. Selena should find a job where she doesn’t have to deal with people! She is very unprofessional! We loved the live entertainment at night at the euphoria lounge. Walking to Sunset Walk was great ! We ate at 3 different restaurants there and also enjoyed a great live band for free in the common area ! Our room was clean and the beds were comfy. The gift shop is amazing with a large selection! Loved hearing Jimmy Buffett music playing in the lobby. We had a welcome rum punch and were treated to a complimentary room upgrade with a pool view. We also took advantage of Margaritaville perks ! If you don’t know look it up ! Great perks for members ! The 2 issues were #1) we returned to our room to find that housekeeping had not closed our door all the way. We thought she was still in there but she was finished. Unsettling to know anyone could have walked in our room while we were gone. #2). Our check in employee at the front desk was amazing however the girl who checked us out at 6:50 am was not very nice. She was obviously aggravated that I wanted a print out of my charges. I like to look it over before I leave just in case. I asked a couple questions about the resort credit and she said “YEP! It’s on there!” Never said thanks for staying, have a safe trip home or anything. She just seemed aggravated. I told her thank you and have a good day and she did not respond. Despite this ,I would definitely return to this resort and recommend it. It’s my favorite Margaritaville and I have stayed at several ! Fins up! Read less

I was hesitant about writing a review because I know how detrimental it could be to people booking. I wanna start this off by saying I tried every single remedy to rectify my situation with the hotel to no avail. Me and my son traveled to Margaritaville in April when we returned home that night my son had bites all over him. I brought him to the pediatrician the following day and they told me that he was bit by bedbugs. The bites were on his arms and his legs . I called the hotel numerous times and nobody answered the phone and I was told to leave a message. I left several. I kept calling and calling and calling and was not receiving a return phone call my last attempt to contact the hotel. I did reach Someone finally and explained my situation, his name was Leo. It’s now almost a month later and not one person from the hotel has contacted me. I find this extremely unprofessional And absolutely disgusting. I have never had something like this happened to me before and I have to tell you it’s extremely frightening. We stayed I believe in room 215 or 218 . Read less
