The hotel

Its address, attractions, and attitude all make it feel like a cross between a members-only club and a private home. On a leafy residential avenue, within shopping bag carrying distance of Rodeo Drive’s boutiques, the suites here are pure ‘Beverly Hills’ glamour, featuring dressing rooms, marble-clad bathrooms, and French doors leading to private balconies. And they come with all the coveted trappings of a luxury all-suite hotel: the complimentary town car service; the in-room dining; the spa treatments; and the rooftop pool, with its cloistered cabanas and 360 degree city views.

This is the best place you can stay-in at Beverly Hills, very prestigious, clean, safe and Beautiful . Very attentive and friendly staff who go out of their way to help and ensure your comfort. The place is stunning and makes you feel at home. All facilities and service are of top notch. It will always be my go-to hotel when at Beverly Hills.

I think this hotel has among the best service in the city, and easily keeps up with the likes of the Peninsula or the Beverly Hills Hotel in that regard. I think this hotel has among the best service in the city, and easily keeps up with the likes of the Peninsula or the Beverly Hills Hotel in that regard. Everyone in the hotel knows your name, and seems happy to help. The real bummer here, and it's a shame, is the rooms are very dark because the only natural light comes in through a set of double doors. This appears to apply to almost all room categories. The rooms are very spacious and otherwise fairly luxurious, but as someone who usually works from the room a decent bit when traveling, this makes this hotel one hard to go back to for me personally. I like this place so much other than the dark rooms that despite checking out early during my one visit due to no hot water, I still was scouring their website after for rooms that might have more natural light to come visit again. Sadly most of the room categories just don't seem to offer this. Still, if you're mainly going to be there to sleep, I'd have no hesitation recommending the hotel. In addition to the great service, the food (especially breakfast) is really to notch, and overall it feels like an insider place to hang and eat in the area. Read less

From the moment we got there, we felt special and taken care of. The entire staff was very friendly and attentive. The room size, quality and value are second to none. 5 star stay and our experience was amazing! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting LA!

We were going to LA for spring break with our 9 year old from the east coast, and debated a lot about where to stay. Overall, we had a great stay at the L'ermitage (with a few small issues described below). The good: - Great location, you can walk to Rodeo drive, grocery stores, restaurants, and are close to everything in Beverly Hills -The hotel is in a residential area, and at least our room in the back was very quiet, which is so hard to find -Service is really top notch without being stuffy. You just feel that everyone wants to help you (if you need it). No one felt like we were a bother. Honestly, this is what sets the hotel apart. -Valet/parking (yes, it's expensive, but seems to be the going rate for hotels in LA) was really good. It was always smooth and quick. -The room, which was just a regular room, was incredibly spacious with a great dressing area/closet that helped keep everything tidy -While not a family hotel, it was very child friendly, and we saw multiple other children. We were able to get a cot for our 9 year old ($35 per night, the sofa could be used but is not an actual sofa bed) The not so good: - The hotel has a roof top pool, and while small (you could not do laps) is great for a dip or kids. It is also not very busy, so the small size is not such an issue. However, while it is supposed to be heated to 86 degrees, while we were there something went wrong with the heater and it took multiple days to reheat and be usable. In addition, this was not really announced to us and we had to ask. It was a bit of a disappointment. - We ate at the restaurant for a lunch, a dinner, and everyday for breakfast. On average, the restaurant was quite good (prices are a bit high, though again, seem to be the norm for LA), but we did run into an issue at our last breakfast when we ordered the pastry basket. The pastries were clearly stale and they had reheated them to try to mask this. Eventually the manager did take care of it, but it took a bit to get to that point. Overall, we would definitely go back there and would recommend it to friends and family. Read less
