Forged in South Africa's all too recent history, Robben Island now serves as a symbol of freedom from opression and the establishment of democracy in the country. 

The brightly coloured homes of Bo-Kaap were painted by their owners after the abolition of slavery, to express their freedom. Bo-Kaap Museum is a must visit and don't skip out on a traditional Cape Malay meal. 

Abundant in wildlife, the Cape of Good Hope is a great location for spotting animals such as Zebra and Bontebok and also makes for the perfect spot for walking trails, offering sensational views of the coast.

Visitors have the choice between an uphill walk or a ride on the Flying Dutchman funicular. Transporting you to and from the old lighthouse where you can cast your gaze across the remarkable landscape.

Alive with hustle and bustle, both of these streets are lined with fascinating shops, unique eateries and nifty art galleries. Long Street springs into action after dark with an infectious atmosphere created by the many bars.
