    Fly direct to Phuket with Virgin Atlantic during our winter seasonal service, taking off October 2026. You can then transfer to Khao Lak, which takes a little over an hour. Air France, KLM or Emirates also offer easy one-stop services from London to Thailand, year-round.

  2. Do I need a visa

    British passport holders arriving by air or land can enter Thailand without a visa (visa exemption) for the purpose of tourism for up to 60 days.

  3. Something a bit different

    Head to one of the national parks to experience nature at its best. Hiking is also a great way to get the most from your surrounds, visiting one of many impressive waterfalls that grace this area. For a real treat combine a stay in Khao Lak or Phuket with a trip to Khao Sok National Park to visit the resident elephants at the Elephant Hills tented camp.

The best time to visit Khao Lak is between November and April, when the weather is sunny, dry, and perfect for beach days and exploring. Don’t miss out on the stunning sunsets!

UK travellers don’t need a visa for stays of up to 30 days in Thailand. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date!

Khao Lak uses the Thai Baht (THB), so you’ll want to bring some cash or use ATMs on the island to make shopping and dining a breeze.

The flight to Khao Lak from the UK takes about 12 hours to Bangkok, followed by a short flight to Phuket, and then it’s just a 1-hour drive to Khao Lak. From October 2026, Virgin Atlantic will fly direct to Phuket - reaching paradise just got easier.

The nearest airport to Khao Lak is Phuket International Airport (HKT). From there, it’s an easy drive to your tropical paradise!
