South Korea is a great destination year round! But arguably, the best time to visit South Korea generally falls in the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is mild, skies are clear and you’ll enjoy picturesque landscapes such as cherry blossoms or autumn foliage. Longer stays can cover city, culture and nature in one trip.

South Korea is known for being modern, efficient and welcoming. Public transport, such as high-speed trains and metro systems in major cities, is reliable and user-friendly. As always, basic travel awareness applies: keep your passport details safe, respect local customs and ensure your travel insurance covers your itinerary. The UK government provides up-to-date travel advice for South Korea.

South Korea offers a compelling blend of ultra-modern cities (such as Seoul), ancient temples, dynamic culture, natural beauty and island escapes. Whether you want city exploration, hiking & nature, food-culture immersion or island sun and sea, South Korea can deliver. With Virgin Atlantic Holidays you can curate that mix just the way you like it.

South Korea enjoys four distinct seasons. Spring (April–May) brings cherry blossoms; summer (June–August) is warm and lively; autumn (September–November) offers crisp air and colourful foliage; while winter (December–February) is clear and cool, ideal for exploring cities or mountain resorts. Whenever you visit, our team can help you plan around the best conditions for your travel style.

Respecting local customs makes your South Korea holiday all the richer. For example:

  • Take off shoes when entering someone’s home and in many traditional accommodation options.
  • When greeting, a slight bow is polite and appreciated.
  • In dining situations, wait to be invited or shown where to sit, and avoid loud or disruptive behaviour in more formal settings.

With Virgin Atlantic Holidays you’ll have guides and pre-trip information to help you feel confident and comfortable.
