Day 1
From Beaux-Arts beauty to the Golden Gate Bridge
Begin at the Palace of Fine Arts, an elegant Beaux-Arts landmark originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. With its sweeping colonnades and lagoon, it sets the tone nicely for a day that puts San Francisco’s creative side centre stage.
From there, join Blazing Saddles for a guided bike tour along the waterfront and across the Golden Gate Bridge. The family-owned company has been showing visitors around the city since 1982, with local guides sharing stories, history and details you might otherwise miss along the way - and e-bikes take the sting out of the hills.
Later, see the Bay from a completely different angle on Adventure Cat’s 1.5-hour sunset sail, passing Alcatraz and travelling beneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Back on dry land, dinner is at Crab House at PIER 39, followed by time to explore the pier, Fisherman’s Wharf and the resident sea lions.
