If you’re looking for perfect weather, winter is the prime time to visit Key Largo. Expect mild temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to mid-70s°F (18-24°C), with little to no rain. The skies are usually clear, and the ocean is calm, making it ideal for snorkeling, diving, and other outdoor activities.

Late spring is another fantastic time to visit Key Largo. The weather is still lovely, with warm temperatures averaging in the low to mid-80s°F (27-29°C), and the crowds start to thin out a little after spring break. You'll get great weather, fewer tourists, and a more relaxed vibe.

Key Largo is about 60 miles south of Miami and takes around 1 to 1.5 hours to drive, depending on traffic. The route is along the scenic US-1 South, which is the main highway that connects the Florida Keys to the mainland. You'll be treated to beautiful views of the water as you get closer to Key Largo, making the drive an enjoyable part of the journey!

There are plenty of mangroves and calm waters around Key Largo, making it perfect for a leisurely paddle.

The most popular and convenient way to get around Key Largo is by renting a car. The island is relatively small, but having a car gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. 

If you're in the mood for a more relaxed, eco-friendly way to get around, renting a bike is a great option. For those who prefer not to drive, taxis and rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are available in Key Largo.
